I'm at my mothers house and using her computer to play the game, I installed AH and set it up to play, for some reason I'm not getting any engine sound for my plane, I hear it on the other planes around me but not my own. It's not that I have my engine sound turned down, I've checked. If anyone knows what the issue is let me know, The comp is Vista 64bit, AMD Phenom X4.
-
Need to see the DXDIAG output. If it is a Sigmatel sound chip, all bets are off.
-
I'd check the sound card speaker settings and make sure they match the speaker setup. I had a similar problem when someone had changed my speaker selection from 2.1 to 7.1 which resulted in loss of sounds. I could only hear the guns fire when looking left or right for example. Don't think i lost the engine though!

Check the speaker configuration and make sure you are not forcing any features on in the RealTek control panel.
I have seen this happen with Vista and RealTek, specifically. Out of the blue something gets changed in the sound subsystem. Not sure if it driver related, Vista related, both, or what.
-
Yeah I just checked and it was what doleboy said, they had it set up in 5.1 surround sound when it's a 2 speaker system, it's working now.
I sent you an email about it too, so just ignore that.
