You know the magic pill that has been advertised to help you quit smoking? Well I am currently trying it out, let me say this, I am a week and a half into the program. It does work. It makes you not want to smoke. But the only bad thing is some of the side effects they tell you about are true.
The first couple of days I started taking it, it gave me some really wacked out dreams. For instance, I woke up last Wensday and seriously thought that I was getting a $30 raise. When I got to work that day I could not stop thinking about that raise, the more I thought about it and all, the more I realized that that was not going to happen. This dream seemed really real. More real than I would have liked.
Anyhow if you do start taking Chantix, you should lock your guns up and prepare yourself for some wild dreams that seem really real.

I have been smoke free for 3 years now thanks to this little pill. I can even drink without any need to smoke. :aok
During my time of taking it I had no side effects, but many of my friends had nausea when taking it. You are the first that I heard of having wacky dreams but I knew it was listed as a side effect.
I highly recommend anyone who wants to quit smoking to try this if possible. I tried several times to quit cold turkey and slowly trying to ween myself off and the only thing I usually accomplished was getting extremely close to divorce court until I found this little miracle drug. I was on the pill for a month when I smoked my last cigarette and stayed on for 6 months total and never had another cigarette since.

I quit April 5, 2007 thanks to chantix. I actually liked my dreams, I thought they were interesting and always included people I never knew.

I gotta put mine in too. I had Nausea. Wife had the small bump breakout on her back. However, both of us life long smokers....quite and havent picked up a smoke since December last year. I absolutely believe the pill works and recommend anybody to go to their Doctor to see if they can use it.

My mom quit with it about a year ago with no ill side effects.

Hell the best part is the wacked out dreams :x
-
Not really, because it really sucked later on when I figure out they were just dreams.

Good for ya'll.
I quit cold turkey and have been free of the demon for over four months.

from my experiences and experiences of others around me
the whacked out dreams are a part of the withdrawals/DT's
i used to smoke gave it up got the whacked out dreams for about 2 weeks
was the same earlier in my life after a couple of years of a gram a day Pot smoking
although more weird and vivid it too lasted about to weeks
and everyone i know who and done the same experienced them as well
A pharmacist / uber smart guy i know said it is probally a part of The cleansing process
of the brain because both ciggies and weed alter brain chemistry with thousands of different compounds and the dreams are a "Workout" of the subconscious,
a clearing of the head of sorts
BTW hope the quiting goes well for ya

I've been smoke free for nearly 2 1/2 years now. I quit using the patch.
My dreams for the first 2 or 3 months were crazy as hell. Interestingly enough, I still smoke in a lot of my dreams.

On a side note.. I'm sure they have altered the drug but it was causing some people to get really depressed and even suicidal. I starting taking it when it first came out and I had the dreams and also a really bad taste in my mouth especially when I burped or something so I quit taking it. So keep that in mind.
If you are getting depressed STOP taking the pill.
I unfortunately kept smoking and still do. With so many positive reviews I think I may give it another shoot.

I have not gotten the bad taste in my mouth, and I have no suicidal thoughts at all. If anything I have noticed that since I started taking chantix I have been overall feeling a hell of a lot better. No more of the cough, better rested and all. For me it has been an overall good experience so far.

July 8th, 2007 :) That's right, yesterday was 2 years since I quit.
THANK YOU CHANTIX!!!!!
[edit]
I had the weird dreams too, but I think that was nicotine withdrawal more than the Chantix. The only real side effect I noticed was it made my tongue tingle. When I tapered off of it, at about the 6th week of not smoking, I was really pissed for a couple of days. Once my body got used to the new lower dose I was ok. The same thing happened 2 weeks later when I quit taking it all together. I never thought I'd be able to sit in the middle of 5 people smoking and NOT want one. Again, thank you Chantix. You saved my life you wonderful little pill you.

October 28, 2006 for me and my wife and my only regret is I did not start taking it earlier. So much has been possible since we stopped smoking. With the cost of smokes now-a-days it would cost us about $100 dollars a week or $400 a month (average) of course the life saving aspect which out weighs the money aspect.

I tried it not long after it came out, and it had no effect on me. No weird dreams, but no loss of craving for tobacco either. I guess I am one of the 10% that get no benefit from it.
I am going to have to just quit cold turkey, I guess.
