Post by: DOC on July 09, 2009, 07:57:52 AM
I have a Saitek graphite controller and no matter what I do I cannot get it right something I am doing/not doing is stopping me from flying the plane auto take off enabled and plane automatically goes to the left out of the hanger. I need help in mapping the controller and keypad. is there a generic mapping set up so i can at least fly? any help appreciated thank you

It could be many things, or it could be a single very simple thing causing all that.  Make sure nothing in your AH folder is write-protected, that none of your keys/buttons are stuck down, and that you're in the right control mode (set at least the first Control Mode in options > controls > map controllers/keys).
Make sure your controllers are well connected (e.g. no chronic disconnects from power spikes, etc) and calibrated.

Then check this page .. http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/controllers/controllers.htm

Autopilot/auto-take off disengaged when the game sees input from your controller.  You might have a pot spiking when your joystick is centered.  The quick fix for that is to add some deadband to the offending axis(s) so that it doesn't cause the auto to disengage.

DOC it helps a lot with troubleshooting your problem if you could film it (press alt-r in the game, and again to stop recording) and either post here or email the film for me to look at. Films are saved in the game's directory, in the "Films" folder. Addie's my forum name @hitechcreations.com.
