I am most of the way through the Acadamy Malcom hood one. Make sure you get the better after market prop and exaust, They really improve the lines of the AC.

RAM's computer just had a meltdown!!

Thanks for the suggestion Pongo. This one is an Academy one as well. Found it while browsing in some generic drugstore, K-Mart or something, to see if they had something other than the standard old Monogram trucks and jets.
Could you by chance point me towards a place where I could get those after market parts?
Kiitos (thanks in Finnish)

Karnak,
You may want to search either of the two following sites:
http://www.hobbyweb.com/ (http://www.hobbyweb.com/)
and
http://www.greatmodels.com/ (http://www.greatmodels.com/)
I have ordered from both of them and have had no problems. I got an aftermarket cockpit, decals and canopy for my 1/48th scale replica of Vraciu's Hellcat.
Hope this helps.

Nifty, though I think the Spitfires with the roundy-round wingies are more purdy.

Wow, nice!
-
Hey how bout that, a sawed off spitfire.
What kind of performer is this aircraft, similar to the Dora? That 5 bladed monstrosity of an engine looks to fit the part.
-
Absolutely Gorgeous,

Nah... this is better.

Gads, Nath. What an ugly airplane. It's all misproportioned. The Fw190 A series at least looks like a menacing war maching, the D/Ta152 series is just plain ugly. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I never liked the look of P-51 so much, and when Spitfire has the look of P-51, YUCK
engine cowling, bubble canopy.. yuck yuck. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif)
-
I have to agree with you Fishu. I've never really seen what other people see in the lines of the P-51.
The Malcolm hooded Spitfires are much nicer looking. I also don't care for the clipped wings. I do however like the engine cowling of the Griffon engined Spitfires.
Wait, oh no. I've agreed with Fishu on something. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
In all seriousness, I think that Fishu and I would agree on quite a few things outside of the RAF vs. Luftwaffe debates that we have here.
For example, I cheered Finland on in the Winter Olympics, even over the United States. Was that wrong?

It looks mean.
P.S. I thought it was the star of the show at the flying legends display (Duxford)... but then i would (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
