Title: Change channel 200 color
Post by: Vudak on July 13, 2009, 06:45:21 PM
Could we have channel 200 text be slightly different (when typing it in) than other tuned channels?  They currently both pop up as yellow, and make mistakes somewhat common.  Just having it type out gray before you hit enter would be great.

Yes! In events it's horrible being tuned to 2 or even 3-4 different specific text channels (and/or custom squad vox).

Perhaps an option to code the radio banks a specific color, regardless what actual channel that bank is tuned to? So radio 1 is red, radio 2 is blue, radio 3 is yellow, radio 4 is green?

And a radio option in color settings that allows you to say "custom radio colors" or "default radio colors"

When you are typing to talk on it, though, the text is yellow... the same color as when you're typing on channel 1XX.

oh i get ya, but why don't you just look at which radio box is pushed in?

Honestly, I didn't notice that was an option...

Granted, I'm not the most astute person in the world, but I think Krusty's plan would make things more instantly recognizable.

Who looks at the radio bar while their typing???
I certainly don't. Hunt & peck types perhaps, but these fingers fly across the keys.
Funny, I failed typing as a freshman because I could not get over 19 words per minute.
Now on a good day I can fly, and push 60 wpm at the same time.

I just engage my sooper-seekret combat AI ($29.95 on Ebay) that flies and fights for me so I can concentrate on berating my enemy on 200.

Wow.  Never thought I'd see this.

Back in the day, we had no vox at all.  All comms were text only.

We were all pretty good at furballing and taunting at the same time.

Seems to be a lost art now. LOL

I always thought you were one of the scenario aficionados?  You don't think this would be useful?  Easy on the eyes at least?  "Back in the day" is getting further and further away, after all :D

Watch yourself, sonny ;) hehehe

What's funny is basic radio operation in every HT created game  has revolved around a radio stack accessed by specific key combinations.

I set up my radios the same way since probably my 2nd week flying (like back in 96/97 LOL- old days indeed  :aok):

1- / this is country channel
2- sift / this is my PM/mission/tac channel.
3- ctrl / this is my squad channel
4- alt / this is the "everyone" channel- usually 200 in AH

Maybe it's just an age old habit, but I've never ever had a problem missing a radio channel.

But, in the interest of assisting those who need it- yeah, I can see how it could help.  This just never crossed my mind :)

+1  :salute
