went to get in game and arena's looked liked this @ 12:00 cst 7/15/09
EW Green 2/350
MW Purple 17/350
LW Orange 184/100
LW Blue 16/150
for me the more the merrier for fighting with GV's and/or planes. Big interest going on in EW/MW and LW Blue, so why the low cap in Orange............???? I just don't understand this CRAP!!

You logged on at the time of day when the caps are starting to shift the balance to more evenly distributed blue and orange arena. The only thing you can do is go into blue and wait for it to fill up to a respectable size. Not sure exactly how long it takes but shouldn't take more than 30min-1hour? This only happens once during the day...
It's pretty much the biggest negative side effect of the caps but they bring a ton of positives to the game that make it worth it.
-
That is an interesting question...why is it that the EW and MW arenas have higher capacity than the more popular LW arenas? Is there ever more than 50 in EW or MW?

Because cap in EW & MW doesn't matter. 400 is effectively "no cap"

Two packed arenas during primetime to choose from.

To choose from? There is always only one option

why we go though this every wednesday

To choose from? There is always only one option
3/4 of the time when I log on Orange is uncapped. Half of the time I go to Blue anyway. The only time I try to get in to Orange (when it's capped) is if there are squadies on in that arena.
-
so 2 hours later i check arena's and this is the difference:
EW Green 3/350
MW Purple 9/350
LW Orange 104/100
LW Blue 102/150
-
@3:07PM EST it was:
114/200 Orange
107/150 Blue
-
Everyone can fix the arena cap problem. In this case, logging into Blue will increase the cap on Orange. Problem solved!

OK. At 2PM there are two more people in Orange than Blue. At 3PM there are seven more people in Orange than Blue.
Why is Orange better than Blue?
Noon is the start of the cap. The numbers are meaningless. It is as if they close one arena all together and open an new, better arena.
Why the numbers in EW and MW? Because there is only one EW and MW arena. Get the numbers up in those arenas and a second arena will open as well as the dynamic cap.
Before someone chimes in with "one LW arena" or "start the cap at 400", how would you like it to be:
Orange: 402/400
Blue: 102/450
?

It's pretty evident what people want. Yeah there are the few that enjoy the EW and MW, but the overwhelming numbers look to get in the LW with Orange being preferred over Blue.

I'd actually prefer this cause i stand a better chance getting in Orange in a few minutes.

And that is only due to the fact that Orange is first in the list ... switch it's position with Blue ... and Blue will be the most popular.

Because EW and MW are set caps of 350 each. The more people in the LWs the higher the cap goes. I see them at 350-450 almost everyday when its prime time.
The arena caps can be manipulated in a way that you hardly ever cant get into the arena you want.
If you knew how it works then there would be no problem. Take this as an example:
LWO 149/100
LWB 57/150
Okay you cant get into LWO and neather can anyone else. So that means that everyone has to go into the LWB. What some don't know is that once LWB numbers get around 75-80 LWO's cap will go up to 200-250. So this is what you do. Log in to LWB since that will add to the number. Now go get a beer and take a leak. Come back and look at the roster and add up the numbers of all three countries. If it is around 75-80 log out and log in to LWO. Its that simple and I don't know why so many people cry about it.

Yeah, game the game and exploit all the loopholes you can find. Sheesh, why not actually go to Blue and play for a little while - you might actually have fun. Oh yeah, that's right, Orange is teh uber arena where all teh uber sticks and real men hang out - what was I thinking.

Yes. For no apparent reason. In the first example above, there are two more people in Orange than Blue. Why is Orange better?
People don't seem to realize that both LW arenas are the same. There are no planes in one that aren't in the other. There are no features that are in one that aren't in the other. The only difference may be the maps and no one is complaining that they can't get into an arena because they prefer that map.
As far as "I want to fly with my squad" goes, that is purely a squad issue that could be easily remedied if squads decided to fly in the less populated arena from the start. Don't blame the game. If it's that important it can be fixed easily.
I'd actually prefer this cause i stand a better chance getting in Orange in a few minutes.
How do you figure? Because the capped arena has lots more people in it? It's still capped. It will take much longer for the cap to raise due to the disparity in numbers than a 102/100, 100/150 situation.
What people seem to want is to go with the crowd, no matter what. Move with the herd. It is what you make of it.

You sure? I could swear the number was closer to 80ish.

how do i figure you ask? simple, it's easier to get in with max people only a couple over the cap, takes only a min or two for a couple people to log off and leave open a spot to get in.
-

Yes. because I see exactly this example every day. It's my primetime. *sigh*
The trigger for raising capacity is set at 70% of max capacity, eg 105/150, 175/250 and so on.
-
I ran into the exact same thing yesterday. Logged on a little after 12:00 noon Central. I went to Blue, did a GV mission, got six kills then logged out and went into Orange without a problem. By that time Blue was filling up.
The only reason I preferred Orange yesterday was because I liked the map better. Otherwise no problem with Blue if I had had to stay there.
The only time I dislike the caps is when I'm forced to play on NDIsles or Baltic or if I get disco'd and want to get back to the same fight.
-
I was thinking the exact same thing.

Is impossible?

Well I'm doing my own stats thing.I'm going threw all the arena caps Post's (and there is a lot) I'm going threw all the pros and cons,I think something defiantly needs done from what i have found so far.Not yet sure what it is ,but i will keep digging.

O yea and!

So this example
LW Orange 104/100
LW Blue 102/150
Is impossible?
No, it's not impossible. That's how it is.
And once LWB gets to 105/150, LWO's cap gets raised. When LWO population reaches 70%, LWB's cap is raised again. And so on.
-
I don't like arena caps, I don't like ENY limitations, and I don't like flying for the country with the most numbers. The combination might be odd.
-
Today's arena cap was great. There were 170 in the arena until the magical cap saved the day. As the #'s went down we were left w/ 26 knits, 48 bish, and around 38 or so rook.
Big suprise that the bish pounced upon their chance to get the NW bases back on knit territory without any fight.
-
Caps should without a doubt be country sensitive.

Hmm... I was on today and I saw a HUGE fight going on in the NW between the Bish and the Nits which eventually splintered into several smaller fights as the Nits beat the Bish back at the airfield the big fight had been going on at.
As I logged off it looked like that big fight was re-starting as another Bish CV came in range.
