Title: Kamikaze
Post by: redduck5 on July 15, 2009, 02:16:20 PM
For added realisim, I would like to see a box in the hanger,or some place, that would allow the Japanese planes to be activated into a Kamikaze role. This would be good for late war campaigns and FSO's. I have crashed my plane into ships with no effect ( except on my kite which even State Farm Insurance would not cover ). That was a real part of war, the desperation of the Japanese in late war.  I have seen where some people would like to add other planes, even older Japanese planes ,which would be great for  kamikaze missions.

 Thanks                             Redduck

The thing about suicide missions is that, in real life, there is actual physical harm tied to it. When you complete your mission, you're dead. Because of this suicide missions remain a relative rarity.

In Aces High you don't have that. When you do your little Kamikaze run, you get to take another airplane up and do it (it being whatever you'd like to do, not necessarily a Kamikaze run) all over again.

Really suicide roles such as this have no place in a sand box video game such as Aces High.

Each account should be allowed one mission marked 'Kamikaze'.

You select it from the hangar, and if you die ( shot down, killed, crashed ) your account is closed and gameid is placed on the 'stricken' list.

Only single crew aircraft would qualify to be used.

Make multi crew planes available too. So they are weeded out quicker. Might be a 2 country war IN no time.

Currently the way I see things in this game you either landed successfully, got killed, captured  or a ditch. Now whether you die landing, bailing out of a plane to close to the ground, clip a mountainside, or inadvertently dive your B 17 into the deck of an enemy carrier the end result is the same, that guys dead. This game tries to be realistic. Is it realistic to say that an aircraft hitting another object isn't going to cause some sort of damage to itself or what it hit? When fighters collide doesn't one or both parties take damage, I've never survived a collision in a plane with another plane unscathed.  Make the damage minimal but in the name of realism  boats shouldn't be exempt from damage in any capacity no matter how its inflicted on it. Call it a kamikaze run, call it a donut, just give it damage. ( With no special points awarded for the action.)

You want to fly just to crash?  You need to find another game............

I say yes. Alot of people wouldn't fly it though because it will "hurt" their score.

Just make the dammage amount the same as a 250lb bomb, and there you go!

I like this wish because if you get caught on fire, or lose half a wing, you can try and make yourself feel usefull and crash into an ord bunker.

It would be nice to have this available for scenarios, but it should never be turned on for the MA.

I could see it acceptable for ONLY special events. Otherwise, FAIL. We have enough pile its crashing into everything as it is.

YES!!!!!    ive been doing kamikazi mission that actaully work ( we use bombs for the affect  with perfection in accuracy diving into the carrier ), but i wish we had the added realization.

Why?

By pulling back on the stick you give yourself the chance to destroy some guns and take out some fighters.

Right now you can already to kamikaze runs, simply up any A/C with bombs, just before you reach 1k in your dive, drop all of them, and you will ride down with the bombs at the same airspeed, and just like a kamikaze attack, you will not survive to see the boom.

Com'on people, its already that simple, you can also do it with all bombs/rockets pickled and with your machine guns and cannons firing, assumeing you live that long. :rock

So, yeah.

How about a 5,000 perk (you *will* lose these perks)  A6M5b/2/KI84/NIKI loaded with explosives?  Wouldn't fly anywhere near like a regular fighter, but one would be enough to sink a CV- if you made it through the ack/fighters.

Limit one per tour, per customer.

We have enough Kamikazes as it is. :huh

You know? The bone head that will upp a PT boat 30 times in a row, launch torps and then die, 30 times in a row just to wreck the other 60 players fun. Or the one who will upp a Mustang, fly 2 sectors, and then die in one HO pass time and time again. Or the bomb and bailers. The guy who will up 8 sets of lancs, die and upp again, just to fling 14 1,000lb bombs at the 20 guys trying to have fun with a GV mission. And dont even get me going on the ram-tards.

Thats all we need is to reward them with perk points just for doing what they normally do, only in a Kamakaze plane.

Ki-84s and N1K2-Js were not used as kamikaze aircraft, though the did at times escort kamikazes.  They were too valuable as fighters.

Once per tour only, all score and perks are lost, and when tour restarts you are prompted for a new name.

Otherwise, NO

AND 30$ a pop...

Think about it, you say Kamikaze (meaning "holy" or "divine" wind) is a go, and suddenly you have people upping a spit for the purpose of a bomber. We have the ability to sink carriers and do damage, it's called ord. Allow 30 people to do it and there goes gameplay and game balance... But why think through the request? You only want it to make easy mode flying even easier. ;)

Only if it costs the same number of perks as that nazi uber tank in that one thread a while ago. And it will not just cost you from bomber perks or fighter perks or attack perks. It will cost you from ALL your perk pools. And if you can't pay, then you go perkrupt. Meaning you can't use perk planes, you earn no perks and you have to pay by the bullet every time you fire your guns for 5 years.
