I caught this documentary when it played on the history channel - and cannot recommend it enough. It is the story of D Company, 6RAR and the battle of Long Tan when in 1966 105 (+ 3 161 Bty, RNZA observers) Australian regular and national servicemen (conscripts/draftees) were caught by elements of 2 Vietnamese Regiments and how they survived when outnumbered 26 to 1.
Unlike most history channel shows it doesn't have any "stock" footage and it was an Australian production using some recreations, but mostly interviews from the veterans who were there and most interestingly the recorded radio signals from the units involved in the action.
The radio signals are powerful and fantasic indications of the sheer level of gunfire, noise and the growing desperation of the Australian diggers.
