Staind is pretty good, I listen to them every now and then.
September 24th, Houston Texas, I'm going to a Blink 182 concert.
-
Saw ZZ Top back in the mid 90's with the Black Crows.
Going to see The progressive nation tour soon.
Going to see Yes in 2 weeks and the Allman Brothers 2 weeks after that.

Blink release new stuff?

I once went to a New Years eve concert at the Brooklyn Acadamy of Music.
The 1st band to go on was Aerosmith.
2nd band was named Kiss (never heard of them before)
3rd band was Iggy and the Stooges
The headline act was Blue Oyster Cult.
Yes I'm old. :rock
I've seen Aerosmith at least 6 times since that nite.
Never have seen Kiss or Iggy and the Stooges again.
And alas, poor Blue Oyster Cult.
The only time you hear from them is on some lame "classic" rock radio station, playing the lamest song they ever wrote.
(hint: its got cowbell in it)
The best show I have ever seen is Trans Siberian Orchestra.
No other show has even come close.
-
Yeah, saw Aerosmith in 1977 at Reading Rock Festival (UK)
Can't remember what they were like though.
I went to see Thin Lizzy mainly.
I cant' remember what they were like either.
-
I'll be front row in a small club again, on October 2nd. I'll be seeing Living Colour. Last time, I got Vernon Reid's ripped setlist. Awesome concert!
-
Saw Aerosmith back in 98 or so. It was a good show, but almost not worth the pain of having to sit through a 7 Mary 3 opening set.
-
My wifr is making me goto an outdoor concert by some guy named Paul McCartney in Atlanta during August. Is he any good or should I bring my iPodNano along with me?

seen ZZ Top twice, always a good show. Saw Rise Against, Rancid and Billy Talent this last weekend, laid out a few d-bags that didn't know where the pit is. Next up is Crue Fest; Motley Crue, Godsmack, Theroy of a Deadman and Drowning pool.

Best show I have seen was U2 here in Birmingham @ Legion Field with the opening act of Public Enemy back in 1992. I didn't realize my girlfriend at the time had tickets until after I got back from football practice at the same location (we had to move out of the stadium since it was being setup for the show that night.) and I checked my messages and there was the invite. Being a good room mate I asked if there were enough tickets for my room/team mate to go and he got the hookup with the best friend of my girlfriend at the time...they ended up getting married. Anyway here is the set list for U2 in that show.
Setlist:
1. Zoo Station
2. The Fly
3. Even Better Than The Real Thing
4. Mysterious Ways / Love To Love You Baby (snippet)
5. One / My Girl (snippet)
6. Until The End Of The World
7. New Year's Day
8. Whiskey In The Jar
9. Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World
10. Angel Of Harlem
11. When Love Comes To Town
12. Satellite Of Love
13. All I Want Is You
14. Sunday Bloody Sunday
15. Bullet The Blue Sky / The Battle Hymn Of The Republic (snippet)
16. Running To Stand Still
17. Where The Streets Have No Name
18. Pride (In The Name Of Love)
19. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
20. Stand By Me
encore(s):
21. Desire
22. With Or Without You / Shine Like Stars (snippet) / Love Will Tear Us Apart (snippet)
23. Love Is Blindness
24. Can't Help Falling In Love

Hell, Rancid was in town? Crap! I've been wanting to go see them.
-
well let see. Seeing as how i work at a couple of amptheatres down here, in no particular order.......
Weezer, Silversun pickups, rancid, who ever else was at weenie roast, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Trivum, and anyone else who was at rockstar mayhem. And im not done yet. Still got cruefest (going to suck) coming up then i think monsters of metal will be coming back but im not sure who is playing this year.
-
best concert I've seen: 1977 - Led Zeppelin - Tampa Stadium - all FOUR songs.
-

i think motley crue would be the only good one out of that set IMO
-
Going to see Yes in 2 weeks and the Allman Brothers 2 weeks after that.
What you think of Yes with the Anderson stand-in and with Wakemans kid on keys?
I was not enthusiastically impressed but still enjoyed the show for the most part. I was really pleased to finally see/hear Asia play after all these years.
-
*sigh* oh well, can't go see rancid live.. I'll have to live with this. ;)

Asia is back together? Is it the original line up? Asia was my first real concert :)

Yes.

me and my pals were smart enough to exit asap once we saw the stage being ripped apart by the crowd....the beatings started about 30 minutes after we were outta there. true story....still have my t-shirt.........and it's funny because every so often I see young kids walking around with the reprint of the 77' tour shirt.......
I would have loved to seen the whole show......I cut a lot of lawns for those tickets.....but as a 16 year old punk kid....seeing them play Nobody's Fault.........well......still gives me chills thinking about it.
-
Yes without Anderson does not compute.

Haven't heard any of it, yet. I'm trying not to let myself be too biased, beforehand. The Bethlehem MusikFest has always been good to me with regard to lineup changes. I saw Alice in Chains there with the replacement singer and they were great. Saw Poison and Jethro Tull last year and both nights were great. I'm kinda excited to hear Wakeman's kid play. I've seen the Allmans a bunch of times now with Derek Trucks and I was not disappointed. It was like he was channeling Duane. I guess ya can't grow up on the road with them and not pick up a few licks. Also as far as that goes, Bonham's kids seems to hold his own. :D
MusikFest is just a really great place to see a show. Great food, great venue, relaxed atmosphere in an outdoor setting. The sound guys are usually pretty competent, also. As long as they try to stay true to the music, I'm sure we'll enjoy ourselves. I think its going to be cool to see Asia open up for them, also.
I also have tix for the Progressive Nation tour coming to the Tower Theater next Friday. Dream Theater is headlining.
Since Portnoy comes to the chiropractor's office that my wife works at once a week when he's not touring (for an adjustment by the doc and a massage by my wife), I have a good idea of where we'll be hanging out after the show :devil
:rock

Yeah, they are opening for Yes and are looking and sounding Great! Steve Howe is pulling double duty by playing Guitar with Asia and then coming out and playing some more guitar with Yes.
I was not very impressed with this version of Yes. The singer is trying too hard to be a younger version of Anderson and his tonal frequency just isn't cutting through. Oliver Wakeman honestly looks bored and his playing is not setting anything on fire. To be fair, more recent reviews are giving them good remarks.
In any event Asia was Great and worth the price of admission!
-
I'm guessing that you've seen them already ? :D
One thing I can say I'm not crazy about is when tours kick off in Philly. I feel that no matter how much rehearsal is involved, it takes a night or two on the road to get the groove going.
In any case, the 5 gallons of home brew I'm bringing to the tailgate will enhance the experience. :aok
EDIT: I think that this will probably be a good show. As far as I can tell, this is the last show of the tour. Hopefully they will give it their all.
