Haven't had a chance to scan up the photo yet...
The vast majority of the work is done. I forgot to do the control surface ribs and put on the Werk Nummer before I took these screen shots. These aren't really noticeable details, though.
This aircraft was damaged (and photographed :D ) in an accident on the 25th of June 1943, serving as a time marker for the adoption of the stripe and checkerboard patterns used on the noses of aircraft of the staffeln of I/JG1, 1./JG1 in particular using a checkerboard pattern.

Very nice! I'm always a fan of the checkerboard planes :aok

Love it Bubi. Outstanding work as always.

Thanks, guys :aok
Here's the original. The fuselage balkenkreuz is oversprayed (with RLM 76 I guess), which I also forgot to do :o

Just saw the RLM 76 spot on the right wing fairing. Other than that, it's done.

Nice work there! Once upon a time I wanted to add a white checker to go with my yellow checkered skin.
I wanted to go with white 11, on a patch of over-painted green

But yours saves me the time, effort, and willpower of doing it! :aok :rofl

I hear the checkerboard can be tough, looks like you did a great job on that one Bubi.

anything in a 190 is :rock.. great work :salute

:aok Sweet ride. Nice job! :salute

No skinner here but it looks like the trick is to get the edges lined up with the middle of the plane so no stretching occurs over the top of the nose. Think it's an issue with UV mapping?
-
The trick is to work with the stretching.
Find where it starts and compensate by reducing or increasing the shape of your "checker" pattern so that when it does stretch it looks better.
That's how I did it :aok

Actually, the only difficult thing is getting the vertical spacing right, since it stretches things out near the top/bottom of the fuselage. Since the default skin had stripes, I was able to use that as a guide.... 3/4 of the work was already done for me :D The lines were a little off though, had to play with them a bit.
Thanks guys! I haven't submitted this yet as the last thing I think HTC wants to find in their inbox right now is 'subject: skin submission' with the chitstorm of complaints right now.... I'll wait for that to die down a bit.
-
I'd submit it now, unless there is any possibility of you altering something on it. The skins just stay in HTC's inbox until they get a chance to look at them. You don't get any warning of when that will be, so you could miss the boat if you wait.
