Got a drive that's freezing some apps on the PC while sticking on the HDD LED till it spins up and makes a single clicking sound, increasingly often.. No problem with this replacement 1TB HDD and OS combination, is there?
System is:
AMD 64 X2 3600+
ASUS M2N-SLI
Windows XP SP2...

Running the exact same specs you indicated.
Well, running SP3 but ran SP2 with the same gear.

Freezing and clicking sound means a dying drive. Get backups, fast.
Sounds of different make harddrives when they're dead/dying (http://datacent.com/hard_drive_sounds.php)

That's a nice website Rip, thanks for the post. Any type of abnormal clicking is a bad sign for hard drives. If its clicking and still operating, back it up fast and replace ASAP because there's no telling how long it will last.
