Title: HAVE TO STOP PLAYING
Post by: joohn6 on July 28, 2009, 06:17:26 PM
Sorry Aces High but I have to stop playing this game in Aug. because the frame rates is hell and the graphics stink.  Also I have to go and chage the terrain "X" everytime.  Not worth 14.95 and month anymore.  SORRY.
Or you could just get a new update to have the FPS work better.
Thanks

Ok I am not going to pay 14.95 for a game from 1995.  If the grapics where fixed then it would be ok.

The graphics are great, just because you have a weak computer and have to turn them off to play isn't HTC's fault.

Are you serious?

There was an issue with those on lower end machines (sounds like you have one) that couldn't uncheck the Detailed Terrains option which caused low frame rates.  Maybe you should try downloading the patch and see if it improves your low end machine's performance.  You may also want to try sliding all the graphic details to the lowest settings in AH as not to tax your low end machine already beyond its meager capacity.  Yes, I know the graphics on the lowest details isn't the prettiest thing to look at but you can't expect to run high quality graphics on a machine that can barely support the game's graphics on the lowest settings.

ack-ack

Could try lowering you "hardware acceleration" setting down 1 or 2 notches too. Unless you have a video card that is less than 64MB ram...then, you're s.o.l.

It appears to me that 50% of the people complaining about issues have systems that are probably superior to those tossing hate in this thread.

Well I fixed it, I just did some re-programing on my computer.  Still the grapics are not that good but who cares my FPS is up to a good number.

Wish everyone would take a few minutes to try a little troubleshooting before coming here and bashing the game.

:salute for taking a second look and an attitude upgrade.

Well i just spent 3 hours trying different things to get my frame rate up to 50 and it bounces down to 24 and is all over the place. Dont know what else to do I thought I had a mid range system but maybe not.

And people on the bbs going you have a weak computer upgrade sound like there running high end stuff. Some people dont have the money to upgrade.

You should not have to spend more money. Set your graphics card to use the application setting on everything that you can set to Application Control and everything else set to disabled. Start AH and go to the video settings when it first starts and start off with antialiasing slider all the way to the left. Under Options/GraphicDetail/Advanced make sure that only Detailed Terrain is checked. Now Object Detail and Ground Detail Range can be set as in the old version and you should get the same results for frame rates as the old version (give or take).
