Is this with patch 1?  It sounds like your card is trying to run in high detail when it is not capable of doing  that.  Can you get to your advanced settings?

Just tried again... game trying to use 3986.9 M now.

I don't think it like X700 Cards

Yes Patch 1

Got almost everything turned down and no joy still trying to use almost 4000 MB vid memory although now I have 15 FR if nothing flies by and I am in tower.

Well, I'm running an XP system with 2 gigs of Ram...  A 9500GT 1gig video card...  With the 512 texture setting, it seems pretty smooth and much prettier then before...  Heck, I even shot down Pacerr!  :rofl

Well, as much as I wish I were, I am not running a Til Death system...  Actually, I'm running a computer that I bought at Wal-Mart a couple years ago...  About 6 months ago, I put a bigger PSU into it and an NVidia 9500GT 1Gig.

I don't have anything even remotely close to a killer system.

I don't think I can run the game at the max settings.

But I am running the game at a setting that looks better then before the update...

And I am doing so smoothly in a very playable manner..

So...  As far as I see it...  If my mildly updated 2 year old Wal-Mart purchased system can still run the game in a prettier then before and playable manner, then there really should be nothing much to complain about....

There really should be a point that people are expected to upgrade their systems...  I think that this may be it...

This machine is a pretty good one. Agame requiring 4000 mb memory means there is some other problem.

Have you updated to the latest CCC and drivers? That is the only difference I can think of, as I use a X700 as well.

Wow, really?  Are you saying I have a pretty good machine?

I am running XP still, which I think may be an advantage, but I am certain that there are a TON of folks running better systems then I am...

I updated CCC.

I was able to get into TA..... Mensa, Ghosth and myself all show the game using almost 4000M of video ram. Must be some bug.
Mensa said he is getting 60 FR I was getting 8 close to anything.
