Except for a P-40E, Me110G, B-25 and another Japanese aircraft, preferably the Ki43 Oscar, I would suggest HTC does a lot of re-models from existing planes.
That could give us:
P-38J or P-38F
P-47D21 Razorback (if the D11 isn`t upgraded with a paddle blade)
109G6 with DB605AM (MW-50)
109E4
Hurricane I
A6M2 Zero
Spit I
Spit IX LF
Yak 9D
Ju-88C
B17F

I would think that a P-47C would be better. We need earlier American aircraft and I think we have enough 1944 P-47s.
I also think that the B-17E would be more useful for the CT. It would give the Americans a 1942 bomber.

The P-47C barely saw combat. The FG`s in Britain equipped with P-47C`s in November of `42 first saw combat in April `43. Their next mission was a month later. And by that time D models were arriving and the C models were being upgraded to D specs.
It`s a myth created by European Air War and other Sims that the P-47C was a significant participant in the War.

Buzzbait,
Ah, I did not know that.
Was there a D model that was used heavily in 1943?

The D5 was the model that the first pilots of the 56th FG and the 4th FG cut their teeth on. Its alot like the current D11 we have now though, no paddle prop though, maybe a little lighter, different magneto (was very troublesome), different radio..

All the early Razorback D models were used in `43.
The D11 was the first model which came from the factory with Water Injection, but again, like the paddle blade on the D11, most D models were re-equipped with Water injection either shortly after they saw combat service, or even first thing that they arrived. If you read the USAAF test I posted in the Combat Theater board about the D5 vs the 109A5, you will note the D5 was equipped with Water injection despite not coming from the factory with it.
If HTC is determined to stick with what came from the factory, then I suggest the D11 with water injection and no paddle blade be used for the early Razorback D, and a D21, which came standard with paddle blade and water injection, be used for the January `44 onwards models.
Personally I think the simplest solution is to offer the D11 with and without Paddle blades. Then you have all the common models covered.
The D25 wasn`t in service until approx. July `44.
