I'm holding a basic P38 clinic this weekend, August 1st, at 9:00pm-10:30pm est. There will be some SAPP volunteers assisting at the event, all are welcome!
This class is designed for beginners to learn the P38 who already have experience in other aircraft and wish to transition to the 38, or those looking to learn the 38's weakness.
This clinic will cover the fuel loadouts, convergence, the basic Immelman merge, use of flaps, compression, side slipping, snaprolling and trim.

I would have loved to attend but I'll be working that night. Any way someone could get the film to me? I'd greatly appreciate it. :pray
-
I will film it but I will keep much of the session in text, voice will be mostly used to answer questions.
-
assuming in the TA? also........which field?
THANKS!!
-
Yes, it will be in the Training Arena.
The field will depend on how many people show up and I know at least once we'll be moving to a 30k field. I'll make sure the information is broadcasted...

+1 thanks for the clinic, definitly learned a few things in it about the PJ. Was actually able to go out on a moderate killing spree tonight. Looking forward to more. :salute

I'm very sorry Del, I was moving furniture all day to help my sister after being awake for over 24hrs, went to sleep, woke up an hour before the scenario and logged on. Scenario finished and I logged off, logged on later and flew with soul/cactus. Completely forgot :( beating myself up now

Thank you for the P38 clinic I learned some interesting things. When are you going to have part 2.
-
I think I was first to auger, did some cross control stuff, was doin good, but wanted brake real hard, snap rolled and augered. since I was having some connection issues I relogged, and came back just as the chapter on snap rolls (and how to control them) started. impeccable timing as usual :t . fun stuff
-
More SAPP'ers in the making I see. :D
-
when and where is the vid going to be posted?
-
I'll ask around, I had recorded the session but at the end I hit "cancel" on the recording before I even realized what I was doing. :(

Obviously Soulyss is a better pilot than filmographer. Cecil B. DeMille's memory is safe.

It's a habit some of us need to break. :uhoh
I hate getting through a good sortie will the full intention of saving the film only to instinctively hit cancel. :furious

Ditto.
-
that's alot of blenders :uhoh

that's alot of blenders :uhoh
THEY WON'T GIVE ME a blender anymore. i'm too much of a wise ass.....and i wreck too many 38's. and lazydog doesn't like me. and storch doesn't like me. and larry doesn't like me.
:noid
:rofl :rofl
-
and i wreck too many 38's
isnt that the main criteria?
-
For the ones who attended this class & filmed the proceedings, would u be so kind as to post the videos. Thank you :)
-
never said that cap :salute

If no-one has a film of the session I think I remember most of what Del covered. If anyone is interested catch me online and I'd be happy to hop from the MA's over the TA and bring them up to speed.
If I am remembering right he covered
Fuel settings
convergence
Combat trim combat vs manual
Side slipping
Dive recovery
Snap rolls

Blender Operation (Free flight and Engaged)
Would have been covered if I was able to attend.

Naturally, do you still require your recruits to be able to field strip the standard Mk IV blender in under one minute?

He made me do it blindfolded :uhoh
-
BO (Blender Operator) Requires 1 minute field strip
MBO (Master Blender Operator) Requires 1 minute field strip while blindfolded
