Title: Working a little better here
Post by: gpa3 on July 29, 2009, 01:27:19 AM
First of all... I sympathize with all who are having performance issues with the new update.

My system is a Dell quad 2.4 ghz, with an NVidia 8500 GT, Vista Home Premium 32 bit, 2 GB RAM. I downloaded latest NVidia driver http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us  and went into NVidia control panel to adjust card for "Performance" on the slider (see screenshot). Screenshots below are in the Furball arena after driver update and adjusting card for "performance". In AcesHigh, I turned off Detailed Water and Object Self Shadow. I set Ground Range=.5, Object Detail=faster. Good luck.

PS: Lowering AcesHigh 'Video Settings' resolution to 1024x768 from a higher video setting seemed to help Framerate performance some too.

Thanks, man!  Tried it, but little help.

But I'm with Phatzo.  I wish everyone could be so clear for the "rest of us".

Way too easy sir...

I set mine like this:

Desktop Settings:

Aces High Video Settings:

Options:

You can see I have detailed water and reflections and I get 59-60 fps in the tower in furballs and every other situation I have seen this far. If I sit in the tower and rotate my view never-ending I get tee-tiny stutters about every 90 degrees but flying with or without T/IR I havent had stutters.
