Because of a pretty high end system I'd say:

Intel Core 2 Duo Q9650 CPU
4 GB Corsair RAM
2 x XFX GTX280 in SLI => 2 GB dedicated gfx RAM
Samsung SyncMaster 305T Plus 30" at 2560x1600 resolution
capturing in ½ resolution with fraps give 1280x800, cropping to
1280x720 for widescreen format produce the above result at
max gfx settings.

Actually built this machine specifically to be able to make these movies,
and also to enjoy AH to the fullest of course. So I hope you enjoy the
films. I do believe they are quite unique, have not seen anyone else doing
anything similar yet.

Awesome video. One of the best I have ever seen. I have a couple of questions for you of course.

How do you not have the text bar on the screen? Did you crop it out?

Did you customize your TrackIR profile?

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!  :rock

Yes, and yes.

The text bar is cropped when doing the 1280x800 to 1280x720 format conversion. Took me a few months to get the TrackIR profile to where it is, haven't touched it since.

I am horribly horribly jealous of your detail settings!

Other than that, WOW, that eye candy looks sweet. Especially self shadow. Subtle things like gunsight shadows, etc, rock in a most awesome way!

P.S. Great to see some Ta lovin'!

Me too! I love my trackIR but have no idea how to make it as smooth as yours. PM to me as well in exchange for beer?!  :)

BTW, ditto again - awesome vids, and can't wait for High Blue p2 - the cons appearing all over the sky still makes the hair on my neck stand up every time I watch it!  :aok

Im sure there will be a lot of people looking for a smoother trackir profile. I have tried playing around with the profile, but each time I mess it up and have to reset it back to the original.

Huh?

Should download in about 2 minutes.

Oh, and anything by Turner featuring JG11 is more than worth it.  His movies are kick arse.  Hope you enjoy.

Not only is it a great movie, but the song is so catchy.

"Supernaut" - Originally written and performed by "Black Sabbath".  The version in the movie is done by "Ministry".

My TrackIR profile (http://www.mediafire.com/?moh1ytqbmyx) for those who asked. It's a TIR 4 profile and I do not know if it will work with the TIR 5 software, probably after conversion it will. You may get different results though, screen size is one of the major factors and I'm using a 30". So if you have a smaller one you may want to turn sensitivity up just a tad bit.

Thank you very much for the profile and the advice. I will give it a try tonight. If it works well, do you mind if I distribute it to my squadies?

Use it as you wish, it's not like I have copyright on it. If it helps you or anyone else enjoy the game more then all the better for all of us no? Let me know how it works out.

I tried it for awhile. It was really sensitive. I kept losing my center point everytime i moved my head. Do you use the vector or clip?

Using the "trackclip pro". Never used anything else so wouldn't know the difference. Works well for me.

Took me well over a month to get used to the TrackIR, I think you need to give it some time. :)

I have been using the TrackIR for over a year. I may be too used to the combat flight profile now. The only thing I noticed different about your profile was the sensitivity. I barely had to move my head to see all the way behind me. When ever I looked forward, it was centered very low. So low, that I kept having to recenter myself.

Yeah, it's something you have to get used to. I certainly had that problem too in the beginning but having the 'center' button handily mapped on your stick help with that problem and after some time getting used to the profile you won't have that problem. I always center myself a little low to counter the effect.
