It beat the wildcat in the initial competition, but the Brewster company has "issues'. It wasnt a bad design and could have been improved, but the company was taken over by the govt and consentrated on other areas during the war.

The naval version was the main version made. However the Finn's ordered them without the extra armor and strengthened gear for CV landings. Thus the Brewster we have in game is the lighter version. A naval version would handle like an underpowered F4F I assume.

why does'nt the brewster have a tail hook.:)

Because the Finns did not have aircraft carriers: our Brewster is a B-239, a different animal than what the USN was flying.

One of my favorite questions is why Polar Bears do not eat Penguins, and I'm guessing the Finns don't eat penguins either. :P

I know why a civil war broke out amongst these savage birds before the Polar bears could find them.

Well played sir.  One of the better Futurama episodes, and that's saying something.

I took a 239 out the other night. I only got a few assists with it but oh man what a sweet flying airplane.

Very crisp and responsive for such a slow, EW bird. No great weakness I can see except for the top speed.

I am far more impressed with this airplane then I thought I would be. I thought it would end up a hangar 'ho.

"Well done" to the modelers. The Finns ended up with a light weight agile bird that the AH modelers appear to have recreated nicely.

Hey now, don't be hatin', the F4F is a sweet lil' bird, you just have to point the nose downwards.

When you're taking off of a deck 50ft in the air, that tends to be a problem.
