if the Anti-Aliasing block in the video settings menu should be checked.  I am referring to the menu that identifies the type video card, graphics resolution and maximum textures.  If the block should be checked, should the slider be moved from "None" to "Most" or somewhere in between.

You looked up what anti aliasing is, right?

AA smoothes out the lines of you plane. Makes it look pretty. If you have a good computer and good frame rates you can turn it up but i think it will hurt your frame rate and may cause other problems.
