The current dueling arena has a basic set up of three groups of four "dueling" fields. Low alt, medium alt, and high alt.
Currently, the medium and high alt fields look something like this (not to scale ;) ):

They are high alt bases, for sure, but they also have a very high ground level surrounding them. Although this is ideal for learning how planes maneuver at different altitudes, I would like the option to take off from a 10k (or whatever) alt base and actually have 10k worth of sky below me.
I suggest changing one each of the high and medium alt fields to look something more like this:

It doesn't need to be such a pronounced drop off, just so long as by the time you get to the middle of the tile, you have that 10k of airspace below you.
Granted, you can fly over to the edge and fight on the water already, but that is a longer flight and this would make things easier for people who would enjoy it while not taking away anything from anyone else. 3/4 of the high and medium alt fields would remain as is and still be available for their current use.

Some people like the idea of a "hard deck" and its enforced by the higher elevation.
Having said that it would not be hard to have some of each setup.

Yep, and the current fields suit them quite well. Like I said, the current set up is great for seeing what a plane can do up there, without letting you get lower. I'd just also like to have the other option, because there are a few match ups (190 v. Spit, for example) where it is a better fight if there is altitude to work with.
I figure 3/4 for the hard deck and 1/4 for the full altitude seems pretty fair. It's *extremely* rare to see all the fields "taken" as is, and people do, for the most part, know how to share, anyway.
