Title: Looking into the sun
Post by: RufusLeaking on August 05, 2009, 06:46:06 AM
When I am low enough to see ground details and the sun is low in the sky, trees and buildings bleach out to white when I look into the glare of the sun.

It is like a photographic negative.  Do young guys even know what a photo negative is?  The details become white and the ground becomes dark.

I do not recall this prior to the upgrade.

Running with Hi-Res, Advanced Graphics off except bumps.

I have the same problem. The sun is even brighter before, if that is even possible.

The visors in my Jeep suck.

Most of my commute, I am driving East.

If I don't wear sunglasses in the morning, the same thing happens.

Seems perfectly normal.

I wish the sun glare on the water couldn't be disabled, it's pretty harsh, and damn close to what happens in real life.  It would be more fair to all if everyone was blinded when they looked into the sun.

Looking into the virtual sun feels more painfull now. IŽd give 5 perkies for sunglasses as additional equipment for every plane.

didn't your mother ever tell you to not look directly into the sun??  otherwise you'll go blind.

The way sun glare works in AH is totally cheesy: it's either on or off across 90 degrees of your FoV.

She warned me about going blind, but that was for a different reason - never mentioned the sun . . .  :D

That's when I asked: "how about until I need glasses?"

Try landing a RL airplane in the late afternoon when the sun is directly down the runnway in front of you. Can't see anything!
