Title: Might be back
Post by: LCCajun on August 05, 2009, 10:55:53 AM
Hey guys I might be back sooner then thought. Looks like we might get our raise that the higher said we werent' going to get. If so I will have to see how my comp runs the new patch. Are there any specs out there that run the new patch good?

Id your up for building your own computer, here's what I would suggest.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115206
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227191
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703015
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130450
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066
Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136167

That should give you an idea of what too look for if you decide to buy a pre-made one as well. I've also heard great things about Tildeath's computers, may be worth looking into if you don't want to build it yourself.

Were I to build a box with this game in mind as a primary use, it would be Intel (not quad core, it's just extra money that complicates things and can't be made use of anyhow)

I had been playing on my old machine (pentium D, nvidia 8500gt.

It would run in the 25-40 fps rate but I had to dial it down quite a bit.

Well, I got my gaming PC back yesterday, downloaded the new version and it ran full blast even with smooth shadowing on, never dropping below 50fps. It looked great!!

Haven't even tinkered with the settings yet.

I haven't been in the arenas with it yet but I'm guessing it will be fine.

I built it last year. Same components are probably cheaper now.
