Title: Interesting Project for Professional Skinners...
Post by: swareiam on August 07, 2009, 11:20:07 AM
Gents,

First, my apologies in asking for this is a real defeat for my personal abilities. I can not seem to get my mind
around the process of creating the skins, way confusing learning curve for me somehow. With that said, would
there be anyone of you great skinners out there interested in taking up a new project.

It would be the "Miss-Pelt" as seen below...

Historical details:

P-51C-10 42-103956 Miss-Pelt of 1Lt. Clarence "Lucky" Lester, 100th FS, Ramitelli, Italy, September 1944
Lester, from Chicago, Illinois, acquired his nickname from his abilities at poker, but the name was fitting for his
combat career as well; in 95 missions, his aeroplane was never so much as scratched by enemy fire. On 18
July, Lester used this fighter to destroy three Bf 109s in the Udine-Treviso area on a day when the group downed
11 enemy aircraft in total. The mustang had been purchased in part with $75, 000 raised by the students' teachers
of the Sisters of Notre Dame's Alphonsius School in Chicago.

Thanks for considering this project.

 :salute

Salute Bro,

Unfortunately all P51 slots are full.  You really arent going to find anyone that will be willing to skin her for you because of that.  Also, she is a P51C.  Not sure she could be skinned on our B version anyway.  I am not one of the 51 skinners, so far more information could come from them.

P-51C = P-51B but made at a different location. Not much else different, so yes they are accepted, theoretically.

(you're right though, they are full, and HTC doesn't want to see any more at the moment)

They said they did not want to see any P-51Ds.. they never said they would not accept any more P-51Bs.

Unfortunately I cannot do it as I am not a professional skinner.. :)
