Title: Friday Night Squadron Ops Mass Dump
Post by: Fencer51 on August 08, 2009, 07:57:39 AM
There was a huge dogfight over A34 with probably 20+ aircraft when everyone was dumped out with a white screen of death crash.  Screen went white, then a "Aces High has to close" message with the option to report the error to Microsoft.

The logs were running if that helps.

Many white screens again in Scenario this fine saturday afternoon.  I know Fencer and I both suffered them.

Last FSO, we had 17 of 26 "vanish without a trace."

Not all at once, but spread out over 30 minutes or so.

My personal experience was about to dive on the remnants of a TG.  Two A-20s with gunners, four of us total.  Three "vanished."  One recorded as shot down.

It was the Luzon or Philippines map.

We lost 3 or 4 out of our group of ~8 as we dove in on a Carrier Task Group.  All white screened during the scenario last Saturday.

I watched the film of what happened at A34.. everyone was low, there was 1 zeke on fire.  There were 4 guys on the ground having parachuted. (2 from each side)  No one seemed to be in a position to shoot or about to shoot at 1 sec before the crash.  The base was lit up but that was the case for a couple mins before it happened.

If I was guessing I sould say someone was shooting a 45 whilst bailed... or the Zeke on fire was the problem... dunno thats why the guys in Grapevine get paid the big bucks.

Dang.

[edit]

Something I have noticed Hitech is that planes don't seem to blow they just disappear in a large fight.  Could that Zeke exploding at T=0 have caused it?  Yeah I know, leave it to the experts.. (BTW Remember that the LOGs were running when this happened.)

Hitech,

I also have film of the FSO event on Aug. 7/09 at A34 where the mass crash event happened.  I believe I have one from the Coral Sea Scenario where a similar occurance happened (mass crash).  If you have any use for them, I'd be happy to forward.

Regards,
