Title: 1.03 quick DeBrief
Post by: Yeager on June 21, 2000, 02:23:00 PM
Good 8meg DL, no probs.

Endured multiple discoes as several server swaps were made within hours of each other due to mission planner bug.

Endured fanatical warps across the spectrum due to the amont of data going into and coming out of the pipe at HTC.  This was  expected.

Flew the Yak, good ride, need more TOS
(Time On Stick).

Flew the Zeke! Nicely done but I have never been a zero fan.  Will be interesting to see who specializes in this plane.  Certainly need SA on steroids to survive.

Changes to PNZR greatly appreciated.  A major refinement has taken place here.  Went 1vs1 with Hblair and had the best few minutes in a online tank sim I have ever had.  The smoke rounds worked perfectly!  Thanks Hblair <S>

Mission planner looks Great!  Hope it gets patched soon.  I look forward to mastering this device.

Prop Drag, Dive Brakes and Ground Compressibility have finally found their way into AH and not a minute too soon!  My initial response was "Thank you Lord" and HT too.  The few FMs I managed to ride last night felt complete for the first time since I started here first day of public beta.  I am excited.

Tracers off.  Thank you  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Clouds looked great but I didnt get a chance to fly close for a look see.

Special effects looked great!  Fires burning looked sort of odd but I appreciate them.  Planes exploding and ground explosions look very believable.  Excellent.  My FPS has taken a hit of 5 FPS on average.  No real problems as long as I stay away from the large black smoke columns.  Experience tells me that these FPS issues will get largely resolved.  I understand the impact that these large black columns of smoke will have.  I hopethey can be fine tuned to alleviate most of the FPS issues.

All in all, too many changes to note completely.  I am pleased and impressed and look forward to more time online.

Thanks HTC <S>

I had to stall and fall close to the runway about six or seven times before Zigrat reminded me about propdrag.

Since then the Three landing I have made on a Runway are outstanding!

Like the Hot Rearm/Refuel thing also.

WTG HTC, a VERY GOOD FLIGHT SIM IMHO!

Prop drag appears to have been the thing I was missing most without even knowing it.  I feel that I can slide in on a bandit's six and not just zoom past him now.  Also, I'm not sure, but it seems as if the props provide a bit more thrust, but it might be just me (noticed takeoffs to be a bit shorter, most notably a full b-17), or an effect of the ground effect.
Greg's Finnal Accessment:
If we can patch the frame-rate black holes with the smoke, this is the greatest game I've ever played!
