Title: Why is it..
Post by: Lazerr on August 10, 2009, 04:14:08 PM
When I run DXDIAG, and turn my sound acceleration down, it always is set to max the next time I run DXDIAG?  I believe this is what is causing my frequent lock-ups.

Try Windows Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio, under Sound Playback click Advanced, click the Performance Tab and move the slider.

Security?

A quote from a Microsoft representative at a recent legal hearing.

"Windows was never designed to be secure."

That is very, very very comforting isn't it? Thank god for personalized download firewalls and anti-virus. A good example is the conficker crisis, conficker came out and thousands of computers got the worm because of a gap in "security" which took microsoft a good long while to create the patch, by which time it was too late for a lot of people. Can't wait for Compaq. How you doin Skuzzy?
