Title: Saitek Pro-Flight Simulator Gauges
Post by: indy007 on August 11, 2009, 09:00:37 AM
Any chance of future support for these devices? They're ready to run with MSFX. Ships with its own SDK included. Very cool flight simmers gadget, and the first realistic step to simpits for the casual gamer.

Only if the gauges I side the plane could be disabled like in msfs so looking outside only gave you out the window or over the hood view. What use are those things with gauges that are viewable already? +1 to it!

+3 To coding some form of a SDK allowing us to integrate such gauges for use with the game.

Those would be pretty cool, but the room they take up! lol! I'm looking at the pic with 3x3 grid.

It would be sweet to fly that way, alt, speed, horizon, etc... The problem (aside from purchasing them!) would be how to organize 'em!

If it were me, as they are in the actual plane.

I don't have or want a SimPit... I use my computer for many things, including typing and graphics/video editing. I can't stack a giant group of instruments in front of me unless it's easily worked around when using the computer for other purposes :)

I'm in the planning stages of a "simpit" of sorts, actually starting as a joyrider motion simulator with some modifications, and would love to integrate an actual panel, but only if this above were made possible. I have no use or need for redundancy in the instruments. If they're on screen, I don't need 'em in a stack below my monitor. Since I only fly AHII and never msfs, other software's capabilities are irrelevant. As it is, my "panel" will be limited to switchgear.

The downside to a panel made up of instuments like these is if you disable the on-screen panel, the cockpit of your KI84 = Spitfore = Corsair = Mustang = FW190 etc etc etc

You lose part of the different "feel" of being in a variety of different birds.

Well, first, I always say have a separate gaming PC if possible. I coad on my laptop, and have a desktop that does nothing but games. I don't like to mix the two, even though it's fine to do it. Just a personal choice... plus I tend to have a lot of usb gadgets.

Second, if you actually used the saitek yoke, and had the gauges on top, you just flip the lever on the clamp and move the whole unit out of your way. Simple enough.
