Can you imagine what the already expensive Les Pauls will cost?

They won't jump up that much Josh.   The Kalamazoo Gibson's (Les Paul's included) are already fetching $100,000+.  Kalamazoo's are coveted.

I won't be buying one anyway, so it doesn't bother me.  I've got my eyes set on an Explorer.

Depending on the year, those are Kalamazoo's up til 74 (some Guitars until 84).  :)   If you can get a bargain on a Kzoo, do it.   But Pre-74 is Kzoo and an investment regardless of condition.

A Giant has fallen. A huge presence in the music world.

As far as the modern music scene it would be hard to find another who had as much impact as Mr. Paul.

How many of you know about his accident and the fact he had his right elbow permanently fixed at 90 deg to continue playing guitar?

<S> Les, true pioneer and truly dedicated musician

I made it a point to see him play last time I was in NYC.  He played two shows every Monday night in Times Square at the Iridium Jazz Club.

Great show.  He was a "dirty old man"  :D  and will be missed.
