Just curious as to the exact model of the Spit V that we have...
clipped wing or regular? (LF or F)
if F, does it have Merlin 45 or the 46?
B or C (can't be A due to the armament)
I'm guessing a F. Mk Vb (Merlin 45)
Also, the Seafire MkIIc is definitely a C wing. It should have the option to carry a different gun package (even tho 4 Hispanos thought to make them too heavy for carrier ops.) Personally, I'd like to have the C wing option to be able to use the A package of 8 Brownings. :D

That's a good question Nifty. I'm not sure of the answer. Compare AH Spit V performance (http://beta.hitechcreations.com/models/spit5.html) with A.& A.E.E. Spit V reports (http://www.fourthfightergroup.com/eagles/spitv.html). There doesn't appear to be a good match. My guess its a composite, not unlike the AH Spit IX. The weight suggests a Spit VB. The full throttle heights suggest a Merlin 45. Maybe a Spit VB with a Merlin 45 fitted with a Rolls-Royce S.U. fuel pump?

yeah, the FTH's seem to match the W.3134 report (Model Vb with the Merlin 45.) And since we don't have gun options or the wing mounts for 250lb bombs, that points to the B wing as well.
It seems the Spit IX is a F. Mk IXe (since you can load the .50 cals on it.) I'm not sure if the E wing could house the B configuration (2 Hispanos, 4 Brownings) or not, so it might be a composite in that respect. Pyro stated at some point that it is an F. model tho. ;) they should do the same for our Spit V. :)

Somebody just needs to look up aircraft number W3238.

Nifty,
The e wing could mount 2 20mm and 4 .303, at least so far as I have been able to tell.

Kratzer I looked up that reg. number a few weeks ago. It was F Mk Vb, Merlin 45.

Thanks guys. I still want a Vc though... ;) I want gun/bomb choices!!! :D

Didn't Vb have only 60 rounds per cannon?
Ours has 120 rounds per cannon.
But ours also has no "stub" for the second cannon bay.
So is it a Vb with fantasy ammo load or a Vc without the "stub" or wing hardpoints ?
