was the nevada the one that made a run for open water but was beached out side of the channel so as to not block the channel?

Yes, that was the Nevada and that is a photo of her after the attack.

You have got to love that photo, taken after she took I beleave 3 torpedo hits in the bow as she was steaming down the chanel, and her captain beached her instead of alowing her to go down in the chanel, smoking bow plates buckeled from the impact, and as you look toward the stern through the smoke our flag is still thier :) Very Cool...
I watched that Perl Harbor movie for the first time last knight, I think I would of rather spent the looking at this photo. That movie kinda sucked.Not very accurate historicaly and the love thing was hokey .
