I am looking for a fairly good desktop screen recorder that is free. The quality does not have to be the best but not crappy, a good middle quality is all im looking for. So if you have one or heard of one that is nice please let me know. Thanks and have a nice day. (or night) :aok

You talking about just screenshots or like recording movies?

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Hypersnap/Hypercam.

Sorry should of been more specific. I would like to capture in video format.

For the life of me I can't remember what video recorded I used when I did the Camera Shots AH Film Viewer Tutorial...

Here is a list of freeware stuff that's supposed to work similar to Fraps.

I use Fraps for WoW videos, I don't see why it wouldn't work for AH2 as well, although I've never tried it (yet). I'm not familiar with any of the free software, but I do think that Fraps is worth the money, and its not very expensive.

I believe he's looking for something to record windows desktop. Fraps only recorded video games and video/movies. It does not do standard desktop recording. That is, say I was to make a video of me browsing the internet or just using Windows.

Once again me not being unclear. Thanks for those who are trying to help i do appreciate it! I was planning on recording tutorials for several different programs such as Sony Vegas, GIMP, and Adobe illustrator. The only problem is my having a lack of an idea of what to look for in the desktop recorders. Once again thank you!

For desktop recording Camtasia Studio (www.techsmith.com) is great. There is also an open source (free) screen recorder but it's a little buggy - you get what you pay for.

Thank you!
