Title: A way
Post by: Rich46yo on August 17, 2009, 08:41:22 AM
Is there a way to block those "join squad" and "join plane" messages from popping on your screen?

I think that only works for single join requests.  Squad join requests still pop up on your screen - always perfectly timed to really piss you off.   Rich, just make up your own squad (no need to invite anyone) and the requests are a thing of the past.

How do you do that? Thank you.

I always thought you need at least one other member to start a squad.

when it shows up in the middle of your screen, look on the bottom of the box. there should be an option labeled "use messages"

click that......now they'll show up in the text buffer.

Go to the O'Club and then Squads.  Type in a squad name and the create it.  Leave the arena and when you come back, you should see yourself a member of the squad.  Any ranking screens will show your "squad" as "invalid" because it has 2 or less members, but you'll still be in a squad as far as everything else is concerned.

Actually the easy way is to invite yourself.

Log out, and back in, then you will get the request, your the CO at that point, can set name, etc.
