A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Brett Favre will just not go away. For a football player, he is sure a pathetic, drama queen, and whiney arse woman. For the love of God, I'd really like him to just sthu and take his sorry arse to retirement.
-
In my opinion it's less about him and more about his love for the game. How many living AH players do you know that leave the game never looking back even for a moment wishing they could be in the virtual skies?

Nuff said, go Browns :uhoh

Brett Favre isn't the drama queen. It's the media that has felt it necessary to report on any of his bowel movements that might have been shaped like a Viking horn. The coverage it's gotten has been absolutely ridiculous. If they had just left the guy alone and not reported everything to death it wouldn't have been as big of a deal.
-
he makes his entire living off of the media reporting what hes doing....... I suppose they should hold football games in secret underground bunkers and never tell you anything except the final scores?
if you dont want public scrutiny....... stop dancing in the spotlight
-
Pay me 10-12 million dollars and I'll be the biggest queen you've ever seen!!
-
The media has chosen to cover every step he's made since leaving the Jets. They've even given him his own Favre Watch ticker on ESPN and NFL Network. Now the media is saying how the constant coverage is Favre's fault. Yeah right

Fixed.
BTW -- if I could, I would too.
-
Heck I would have taken the offer that GB gave him last year just to stand on the sidelines as a backup QB. When you have as much money as he does another 3-6 million can't hurt.
-
And yet again the football world is crapped on as he signs with the Vikings after he said he wouldnt what a puttz he needs to go away. :salute

I agree and think that sums it up perfectly.
Was watching NFL network talking about it yesterday and they mentioned he was offered something like 25 mil just for signing his autograph on some deal. So it cant be all about the money. Though an extra 12 mil cant hurt. LOL
As a Viking fan Im glad we have him. Jackson sure as watermelon wasnt going to be the answer.Though he will probobly make a good backup someplace. He just isnt a starter type QB.
Its a good fit for Favre. A system he is used to and with Peterson/Taylor to hand off to. He doesnt have to do it all.
-
Favre = Drama Queen. He always has been. He also should have retired 5 years ago.

As a Bears fan, I can only say hear, hear.
He should take a towel, wipe that stuff off his ass, and drive his CTS home like the creaky old woman he is.

he did retire 5 years ago......... and every year after that......... he just cant keep his wheelchair away from the stadium for some reason

OK guys here is the scoop. The GM since drafting a QB number 1 a few years ago wanted to get rid of Brett.
He knew he had to find out if his newly drafted QB could hack the NFL. After all he spent big bucks on the new kid.
His dilema? How can I afford paying these two huge salaries. One has to go. Instead of being diplomatic about
the situation, talking with farve about a possible back up role and a slight cut in general he helped farve along the
retirement route. He knew farve still had it in him, but knew he couldn't afford both QBs. HE ALSO knew that Farve
was attractive to Minnesota and HE DID NOT WANT FARVE playing against the packers. The GM wanted it his way.
He knew farve still could play better then 75% of the QBs in the NFL and he didn't want him beating the Packers.
the Packers GM found out he couldn't have his cake and eat it too! Farve initially agreed to retire. I'll bet after some
thought that farve said "Hey....this guys is trying to get me out of the way!" He doesn't want to pay two QBs, and he
doesn't want me to play football for a team in his conference. Thus...the Jets. Farve showed he could still do it.
Unfortunately he tried to play through an arm injury and couldn't.
SO....in my opinion GM fostered this drama. He could have let Farve go to Minnesota. He didn't. Instead he traded the QBs
rights to the Jets stipulating that THEY WOULDN"T TRADE HIM TO MINNESOTA. Now if that isn't a selfish motive on the Packers
GM I don't know what is!
Is there drama.....yes...way to much. But this isn't Farves fault alone.
The GM of the Packers has more to do with this drama then farve does. The GM by his selfish actions caused this problem
and knew dam well if farve played for Minnesota he would be thumped by the Green Bay fans and probably beaten on the
field also by the Vikings keeping Green Bay out of the playoffs. by the way...Green Bay didn't do so well with the new QB
did they? Ya think they might have been better with farve and a healthy arm? I do
Greed is a funny thing. Ask the GM of the Packers. The Vikings will probably win the division with Farve. And the Pack will
be eating cheese during the playoffs.
BTW, I'm not a packers or vikings fan. I'm a football fan. Cleveland Browns as a matter of fact.
And we haven't had professional football in NE Ohio for quite awhile :lol

I'm in Detroit, wanta trade??

LOL dbeav Browns and Lions this saturday night in Cleveland.
The Inept Bowl!

Well let's not get carried away. They were the pre-season champs last year at 4-0 and they have succesfully defended that record this pre-season. (baby steps)

I cant really say i agree with that Hajo..... Yeah the GM could of handled things differently but he isnt the one that even last year said im done im retired Farve did after his stint with the Jets.... Farve also came out and said im not signing with the Vikings and then he did... Drama queen that needs to go away... To me its quite pathetic.. Either retire or dont its getting quite annoying.
-
He did retire. the Vikings head Coach talked him into playing. The Vikings deal was off.
If someone threw 12 million dollars in my lap....I'd play too.
Everything has a price. Farve could have been in Minnesota last year except for the greed and
deception of the Packers GM. I've never heard before...Oh yea...we'll let you sign Farve on one condition,
you can't trade him to Minnesota. That is one man personally dictating someone else's life.
No one on earth should have that power.

Churchill: Miss, will you have sex with me for one million pounds?
Miss: why, yes
Churchill: Miss, will you have sex with me for one pound?
Miss: of course not! what do you think I am?
Churchill: We've already established what you are. Now we're negotiating price.
That said, better a high-priced 'ho than a cheap one... There's genuine respectability around that.

Actually the GMS move made sense. Why would you let someone as good as Favre is/was (remains to be seen). Who knows your offense better then probably even your head coach and offensive coordinator go to your arch rival who's primary need is just a decent QB?
That would be like handing a gun to someone who wants to shoot you has the correct caliber ammo, but has no gun
-
:noid I know what he was like as a kid in high school...put it this way, I'm surprised Brett isn't worse than he is...dad was a real case...and I've never been a real fan of either.
Have some respect for the guy...football has been his life since he could hold a ball...he was pushed to be the best from childhood up. Personally I think he should have stopped 3 years ago, instead of becoming a media farce like Michael Jackson.

Will agree with you on the shady dealing of the Packers GM. I wasn't truly excited when he played for the Jets, but they had a good season. I'm very interested in seeing the Vikings and Packers games this season though. But has to suck for Tavaris Jackson. Seeing Favre has had surgery and still has a tare in his arm. You never know!
OH Yeah ! GO PURPLE :D
