Make sure you can record audio in Windows first.  If Windows can't use your mic, AH2 can't either.  Once you can record and playback audio in Windows, fire up AH2 and tune vox to your own GameID.  When you transmit, you should hear yourself.

If all checks out, you can start annoying people over vox again.  :D

Ok, you chose to bring this to the public.  Just remember that.

You lost your text privs because you called for a mass report of another player.  That is not the "dumbest of reasons".  What you did is abuse a tool provided to the community so it may deal with ill-behaved players.  It is a personal choice to use.

As for the virus, get a good anti-virus, defrag, and watch that potty mouth from now on... I'll be watching  :noid

So his problems with vox aren't a result of a virus he got but rather because he had his chat suspended?

Im having trouble figuring this out... Does he think the chat suspension is a virus? Or did he actually have a virus? Im voting the first.

I'm thinking he received an actual virus. After all, nobody, "had to redo my entire comp" just because they were muted.

True, all I can say is after a virus like the one you are describing, defrag and hope for the best, man.

Turn your playback volume up, then try it.

When you lose you test or voice privileges, you get a message in the text box stating so, each time you log in.

Make sure you have every setting correct, the volume shouldn't be down for EVERY SINGLE volume. If this is the case for any of them, try giving it a little juice. Still doesn't help then I don't know. Make sure everything is plugged in.

Have you tested your mic in Windows?  Are you sure that it works within Windows?  In XP in the control panel you go to Sound , click on voice tab and test?
