Has anyone other than myself and a few of my squadees noticed that some of the CV's are respawning at the exact point where they went down? And a Task Group out in the middle of the ocean with their "route line" coming from their port of spawn and the CV not even close? Whats up with this?

Just a bug.
They'll fix it.
Its been reported several times in the "Bugs" section of the BBs.

There was a bug on TAGMA map that caused this. Map was replaced for this reason a few hours ago.
Did you see this happening on another map too?
-
they did it on purpose, so that the furball between the cv and the base can continue, despite people trying diligently to ruin the fun?

cv isnt classified as a fighter hanger is it? :huh
-
oh come on. They replaced the map. That was the best part about that map. If a cv went down, just wait 5 minutes and you can get back into the fight. Really kept the fights going!

what was sad was that at the base i was at, it took them 5 cv's to finally take the base.

cv/base battles are my favorite. i don't care much if someone's tryin to take the base. i enjoy the cartoon air combat. :aok

You can't win the map by taking the cv.But it does count before the last field.

i would say who cares....but there's a lot of pile-its that enjoy sinking them in the midst of a good battle.

Among the lamest of all lame actions, IMHO. Sinking a cv just to F-up a good air-to-air fight. Sad.
edit: bomber guys, if you wanna toolshed, go attack a base or CV somewhere where there ISN'T a big fight going on, and have at it. NO ONE who likes to furball appreciates someone else coming in and ruining the action.

Done it, and it proved to generate lots of good fights between bombers, escorts, and enemy. Not exactly the impatient instant action most everyone wants nowadays, but fun nonetheless.

I love going in alone in a Stuka and trying drop the MOAB on the deck, while the ack tries to vaporize me first. Definitely an exciting conclusion to 15-20 minutes of crawling along at glacial speed clawing for alt. Would like to have the RATOs as a field mod for the Ju-87. :pray

If you can convince the guys upping from CV to ignore the town, or not to take the ship so close to base that manned 5" will blast everyone taking off, I will comply.
Until that - better keep a CAP over your CV :aok
(To be honest, I have to add that CV's usually do not have much to fear from me. I suck at bombing them)

you do have a point there. that is as annoying as the guys that sink the cv's. it pisses me off when i see friendlies go and de-ack everything, then start vulching....which also kills the fight.

I agree 100% Snailman, that is the perfect exception. Guys upping from a CV to furball, don't sink the CV please. If it's a mission to take a base and the attackers are trying to avoid a furball, have at it.
And I freakin hate puffy ack, so you know I stand with you on that one.

Cvs that are close enough to the base to shoot planes on the runway are fair game.
I was shot on the runway the other nite by a CV group who's bows seemed to be on the beach!!
The Cv group itself had the base capped, without the added benifit of its aircraft.
You can imagine my dismay, as being killed is detrimental to my quest to be scored #1 in the Lw arenas! :cry
The Fleet should be kept at a reasonable distance from the base.
I mean really, how deep is the water near the shoreline?
Ports may be an exception to this rule.

I was taking off last night in blue and was shot by a vulching bird. I thought about it a minute then realized I was just as dead no matter how it happened.
Then I got my new 38 and had my revenge. :devil

I had a blast with PT wars because of the bug.
But it does get old pretty quickly.
LOL caldera what's up with that sig? :D
