The harrier is so loud, i bet your ears were ringing after being that close.
Somebody was at RFD, Stillman Valley fire dept, I know a couple of those guys. First breakfast is coming up soon eh?Who do you know there and where are you from.
Nice pics BTW
Its the loudest aircraft I can think of on approach to land. Most other jets are at idle or close to it, while the Carolina Lawn Dart is at full power on approach. Given the amount of security they put up around the Raptor at air shows, I'm surprised they let you take that up-close photography. Cool pics!
F-22 looks so fake with that skin. As if you had it done on photo shop. Never really seen on but i must say it is smaller than i thought.

Have you ever heard a VC-10 take off? Those things are louder, on landing they are almost as loud especially if they have to throttle up just before starting to flare the touchdown. Quite awesome noise anywhere within Brize Norton when those things are powered up.

I don't think anything beats a B-1 on take off except say an SR71 as far as pounding in your body cavity loud. Used to work on the radar on those a few years back, kind of miss it now.
Gary what airshow where you at?
It was the Rockford Airfest in Rockford, Il.
Here are some others you guys might like.
