Title: Zeke faster than Spit IX?

Terve!
Last evening I have one fight against Uri. I Fly Spit IX and Uri fly A6M5b.

Uri start higher alt and try head shot in merge while I make lead turn about d300-500. There we turning and looping.

I suffer from start low E so I make extend move and gently dive WEP on.

I was supprised because Zeke comes closer and closer. Litlebit later Uri nail me.

Could Zeke really outrun Spit IX?

zeke is faster than spit 9!!!

btw, after gear up, and flaps up, spit9
is much faster. with gear down and flaps down, zeke could catch you :-)

Well, same time I batle against my X36 hotas because SHIFT was on all the time :-(

It's perhaps because uri got more E than you think and as spend less E in turning than you.

I don't think the Zeke is faster in top speed, but from what I can tell it is probably the fastest accelerating A/C.

I have seen Zeke's do some kind of a lead turn loop vs my pony.  If we are roughly co-E and co-alt I can fly the pony straight and level while the Zeke pulls a hard loop on to my six.  The Zeke will eventually lose the race, but it can often get close enough to fire a few close shots off.

Amazing....

It's only faster when a master zeke pilot like myself is flying it.

Zeke only accelerates better at really low airspeeds though, like below 120mph indicated.

Now, a late model I-16 with the 1100HP M-63 engine could be a superfun little TnB plane, especially if it had cannon.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I'd have to agree with Minotaur on this.  No way is the Zeke faster than the Mk. IX however it WILL out accelerate it by alot.  Try some low speed acceleration tests between these two aircraft.  You will be suprised.
