It's true. :o
While on a break from AH2, I was thinking about my disdain for Spitfires and why I never fly them. I
have been a Spit basher (especially the 16) on the forums and in general never really liked them.
In retrospect, it seems irrational given my fascination with all the WWII hardware. Maybe I should give the
Spitfires a second look.
I took the liberty of reviewing some of my AH films from a new perspective - one without prejudice. In so
doing, I have actually (and a little reluctantly) developed a respect for this fine cartoon war bird. In order to
kind of smooth things over with the Spitfire fan base, I have created a short pictorial tribute to showcase the
Spit 16 in all of its splendour.
Handsome Design
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/1.jpg)
A look that means business and strikes fear into the hearts of lesser opponents.
Amazing Performance
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/2.jpg)
The Spit XVI can hang on the prop like nothing else.
Great Visibility
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/3.jpg)
A bubble canopy promotes heightened SA and allows for truly majestic views.
Legendary Maneuverability
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/4.jpg)
Taking negative G stick stirring to the next level.
Superb Energy Retention
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/5.jpg)
The Spit 16 can go on seemingly forever.
Awesome Firepower
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/6.jpg)
Her fearsome guns can unleash torrents of hot lead, with devastating results.
The Total Package
(http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o460/caldera_08/spit16/7.jpg)
Despite its many qualities, The Spit XVI demands a skilled and fearless pilot for it to really shine. Particularly when attempting the highly technical "Luftberry" maneuver.
As to the allegations that the Spixteen is a UFO, that may or may not be true. However, I have uncovered photographic proof that the Seafire is indeed enhanced with alien technology.
Behold the Seafire Mk. MCMLXXVIII:

Ooops, I accidently bumped into this thread again.
Aren't there any Spit 16 drivers hopping mad about this? I thought it was pretty good bait.
I was hoping to at least get a bounty put on my P-40. :P
P.S. I'm glad the posters in this thread got a good laugh. When I first hit the "post" button, I was laughing out loud like that Def Leppard dude at the end of "Rock of Ages". :devil

Ok, just how exactly did you manage to get every one of my untimely deaths on your film? With thousands of sorties in my 16 you got all 8 of my deaths in photo for all to see :aok
Great job! Funny, I thought I had a different skin in that second photo, will have to check my logs :devil
