Which one do you prefer to use if your base is getting vulched?
My favorite is the Ostie.
I love the extra range you get with th 37 mm.
In fact just a few minutes ago i sniped a 262 from 1k away with the ostie.
Its just so fun to rip the tail off a vulching 51 from over 1k away.
So, Which do you prefer?
-
WB all the way.
-
If the vulch is really going I prefer the Wirb. For defending V-bases and airfields against bombers and guys doing lazy circles around the field I prefer the osti.
-
wrible I suck in an osty.
-
I suck in both, the only time when I can kill something in a wirble or ostie is when they are going right at me (or it's just my lucky day) so I would rather take a fighter from a distant base.
-
i get more AA kills in a M8 than a osti :D But i do like using osti over WW just cause WW seem so EASY MODE!!!!! :x
-
Ost because Wirble is overmodeled.

So is the the Ostie. ;)

Yet no one complained about the osti as much as they do the wirble.

Because it's still harder to hit with the Ostie.
But both vehicle turret's are rotating with the same speed. Which is about double the real life one.
I think one of the reasons why the Wirbel is much more effective in here compared to the Ostie is, that Pilots in here are MUCH more reckless than their real life counterparts. They fly much closer to known ack positions and with much less considerations about their safety. If jabos here would keep more than 1-1.5 k distance when dropping bombs, the Wirbel would be quite useless.

Nailed that one for sure...but will HTC ever fix the Osti and Wirble rotation speed (and wirble's unlimited spray of 3K rounds?)

Probably not 'till i find better proof ;)

Well we have gone over the wirble being inaccurate plenty of times, and didn't the Ost/Wirb use the same chassis?
-
I like the osty because of all the ammo. Plus I can do bracket shots and pretend I'm being useful :aok
-
Either will do for me makes no difference.
-
what would be a good addition in early war arena since all that have there is M16.
-
osti everytime just because i have more luck with the big rounds (using the Zazen trademark lead technique) and can reach further.
-
I believe that LTAR is the only squad that has mastered the Osti on a squad level. I think that 95% of the time that folks in general up a flak, it is a Wirbelwind.
The LTAR's do seem to be a dying breed, however. One does not see many of them online anymore.

I shoot them both well... But need trigger time in whichever one I'm using...
Leads and aimpoints don't transfer between them, so for me, switching back and forth is the worst thing!!!
Pick one, and stick with it!!! But either is deadly!!!

Don't forget the M16!
-
ostie!
which reminds me.. it is rather tiresome hearing "you cant hit him that far out" from a countryman in a wirble, when one is sitting in an ostie... shootin at somethin 1.5 or 2k out...
dont tell me what I cant do! :D
-
Ostie is good for higher targets of course, nailing lancs easily. Wirblewind for those foolish strafers that have to try. I'll up an ostwind when I see alot of freindly WW. Good to have a mix of both.

I'll take a wirble anytime....... The rate of fire is incredible
-
WW is for noobs.
Osti FTW!
-
You forgot the M-16, and I will drive and use all 3 depending on circumstances. :aok

YAKNOW......
i never thought to try the osti. i've almost always upped an m16 or a wribel
-
I usually up a Wirbelwind because I'm a lousy shot. Nothing more fun than killing "fighter" guys on the deck who are using their ACM skills to shoot a guy trying to take off.
I do like the Osti's one hit one kill capabilities but it's kinda like hitting a crow with a deer rifle. I ain't got the touch.
-

Ditto, the magic that some people have with those simply eludes me.

I use the M-16. It is faster, and the 4 .50 cals can saw through a plane plenty fast for me. Plus, it doesn't mess up my gunnery like the Wirblewind does.
-
Both work good for me the WW is my fav. However watching a 20mm round hit an aluminum airplane and do no damage lately is starting to make me wander who turned the damage down. I come to this conclusion after running a solid stream of 20mm's from nose to tail on 300ft lancs and all it did was cause one engine to smoke.
-
To me it depends on whats attacking the base. If it's buffs, low or high, i'll grab an ostie. If it's fighters or an assortment, the wirlbewind my choice. Alot of times i'll have a WW and its 20mm's dont have the same impact on a bomber than an Ostie.

M16. :D
-
Oh, I almost forgot: in case of buffs at port: PT Boat.

+1 :salute

If the 37mm on the osti didn't have the random dispersion, I would imagine it would be favored.

Jeep

both depends on the way the aircraft is attacking

What, LTAR's can hit stuff? :x :x
LTARogue

We are not a dying breed........just stealthy. <S>

Well . . . . except for you.
:P

but flat the M16s are soo much easier to bomb just ask AGF :D
-
I like the Osti better.
-
Wirb :aok
-
i prefer the ostie
1. can snipe bombers 3k up :P
2. requires more skill than the allways used dweeby wirble :noid
3.good for pissing off vultching p51s who think there invicible :lol
:salute

I used to like the Ostwind until they updated it, now it has very limited visablity, so i'll stick to a M8's main gun and M2 :aok

Not really. Limited visibility had been corrected after a week or so

It's not worse than before the update.
