Patch 7 fails with the error that stdshape.res is not a valid previous version and the installation bombs out. I've tried both the in-game and manual downloads. I have 2.14 Patch 6 installed, and this is the version that appears in the top corner upon launching the game.

I have the same problem. Manuel or auto updater gives me the error stdshape.res is not a valid version and can not be upgraded. I have version 6 loaded and it played ok both online and off until this update. What do I need to do to fix the problem? Spec's below.....

Try saving your settings sounds and skins folder and redownloading the entire game. If you have broadband connection. Make sure you restart. Might be a last resort, but its all I can think of.
-
For whatever reason, it appears that that file has been corrupted and the patcher can't patch it. Unfortunately, the only fix is to download the base version and install that. You don't need to uninstall anything, you can just install the base right over the top of your existing installation.
-
What I found is that the patch was loading to C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High folder. The Version 6 file was in C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II folder so the error was correct as no files were in the folder version 7 was looking for.
-
That's another possibility if it's going to the wrong path. Check the path during installation and make sure it's going where it's supposed to be going. I have no idea why this would be any different now compared to previous patches.
-
The patch path will be the one of the last execution of Aces High.
If you have two installations, and run the old one last, the next patch will try to patch the older version of the game.
Always check the installation path of the patches to be sure it is trying to patch the correct version if you have more than one active installation of the game.
