It's something worthy of a Vegas Strip Magic Show. A CV within a thousand yards! I fire 4 perfectly good Torpedoes and being under heavy fire my boat is destroyed so I Jump into the churning sea only to find the tools of my attack vanish into thin water.
This disappearing ordinance configuration has made PT boats mostly useless and a waste of a Crew.
I'm transfering to the Air Corps. :salute

That is a beautiful model.

They only disappear if you reup another ride.

Oh OK I must sit in the tower and wait for the unknown. Did it hit yet? Should I wait longer? Oh the Drama! :huh I'll never get to see them hit. :cry

Still better than one player firing 100 torpedoes per minute.

I concede that was the intent but it may result in 0 torpedo's getting fired as the PT will lose favor.
Avoiding the PT spawns was the solution of 100 per minute. CV captains now have one less threat as most enemy will re-up fairly quickly and try something else.

Could always fire more accurately and from further out
I wonder how many carriers were sunk by PT Boats. I would suggest if its harder now then give it a big perk bonus.

No, no, this is actually HTC's crude way of modeling the poor reliability of early-war American torpedoes.
I hear they're going to introduce a properly sophisticated modeling (instead of this temporary hack,) in the next patch. (That patch is also going to re-balance the Brewster by removing the propeller and nerf the Spit 16 by removing the laser beams.)

Carriers? How about how many ships were sunk by PT Torpedoes period? Between malfunctioning torpedoes and it being suicidal in general it just didn't happen alot.
Only place I can think of PTs facing capital ships was in the slot at Guadalcanal or The Battle of Surigao Strait in the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
I actually sunk something with a PT the other day. If you're that close, 1000 yards, you shouldn't have to wait long anyhow.

On any update or patch it is a good idea to read the note included in the update or patch. Cuts down on the surprises. <S>

No the SAPP torps have dotted lines where the duct tape goes.

Does your copilot have to hang off the wing like Keanu Reeves in Speed hanging underneath the bus to detach the torpedo?

McHale's Navy sank hundreds over a 4 season run. :D

Well they could always make it so you can't fire more torpedos untill your previous ones have detonated or ran outa steam.

Really? I don't remember them sinking much. If anything, IIRC, it was submarines. Depth Charges as much as torpedoes.

Mines.
To be more precise: The naval mines laid in Mobile Bay, in 1864
