As a paying customer I feel that HTC should re-write all the code so I can play on my 286 with 2 MB of ram and a 10MB Drive
the updates over the last 20 years have made me feel like HTC does not care about the player base, and the 8 patches in the last 30 days, is just outrageous!!!
Why do you keep doing this, do you want to really make us mad and force us to go play Pac-Man, Just because a few thousand users in your player base have upgraded their system's over the years to keep up with the demands of your code. Does not mean that I am ready to do so!
So I guess it is True!

I know. That PC platform was a good part of my growing-up years all through the 80's. The respective capabilities of it were pretty cool.

That's because "he can and doesn't GAF". :rock He knows he controls us almost as much as our wives do. They say "Crack kills". But if "AH is crack", crack sure is fun. :)

At first I think heater was being sarcastic but now I'm not sure, maybe hes just a moron?

LOL, Apple 2c's, gs, 2e's we had predominately in school. At home we had a Commodore 64. I first got hooked on flight sims with Sublogic's version of Flight Simulator... on a tape drive, if you remember those. Man, did that ever take a looooooooong time to load. I think I was 12 years old, or thereabouts.

WOW! That photo brings back some memories! :x
And for the record, the computer taking up the main portion of that photo in NOT a Commodore64. it is the next step up in the latest and greatest HomePCs. It was a Commodore128. Double the computing power of the great Commodore64. I know, because I had one, and I thought I was the Shiznit!

Since you obviously do not know the history. Even though you are 100% correct on your evaluation of Heater.
Heater is an old F15 Pilot.
Heater has had the privilege of punching out over the north sea.
Heater likes to bend F15's by pulling to many G's just to simply avoid hitting a Cessna.
Heater has been my wing man since I started flying flight sims.
Heater has not flown a real plane in a while.
Heater is a bigger putz than me.

Still have my commodore 64 (with the tape drive AND a floppy) Last time I pulled them out of the closet a couple of years ago they were still working.

I am in absolute agreement. Over the last month, what is it...like 8 patches? 3 updates ago, my comp was running AH perfectly...no drops of 30+ in frame rate(usually is fine though, consistent 40+), no rubber bullets, everything peachy. After these last 2 updates, it takes me 10 min+ for textures, etc, to load right. The orange arena is fine, if I can get in, as it does take a few minutes to load...then I fly without probs. I cannot even attempt to go to Blue because my frame rate will not even go above 20 and as soon as Im in the air its freeze freeze freeze. How is it possible that Orange runs fine and Blue so totally garbage? I love this game and for the most part all the guys that fly are cool as hell...but as pointed out in this topic, if im a paying customer, I feel like these updates are getting out of hand. I think its kinda ridiculous that if these updates keep coming, I will be forced to go out and by video cards and sound cards and god knows what else when bbefore the updates it was fine. I do not have the money to go out and buy a new video card when my comp runs it fine if you do not update every 6 hours(lol). Thanks for hearing my gripe guys. :salute

Forgive me, but I think you are missing the point of the updates. The updates are not brand new textures and resolutions to enhance the 'eyecandy'. The eyecandy was created with the BETA version and then eventually implemented in the game. The updates are "tweaking" the code to correct discovered problems as the game is played on a much larger scale than could be tested in BETA. I assure you that HTC is not trying to run you(or anyone else) out of the game. They are not updating code to surpass your system. If you system is having a problem with the new updates, I imagine if you email / call HTC they will happily work with you to resolve the problem so that you can continue to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, each system has its own personality and the tweak that fixed someone else's problem may clash with yours. Call them and they can find a fix compatible with your 'puter.

If I were a coder, I'd totally attempt to get the game running on my Atari 800XL. :devil I haven't had ANY problems whatsoever on this (http://docs.google.com/View?id=dc3smcbq_147g6dnzdhd) ever since Aces High I, so who knows?
