Been running this system a couple of weeks with no problems until last night - don't know what I did, but suddenly my default view was looking backward. If I press '2', my default view returns to normal.
Using the keypad, I have no problems with views, but if I use the hatswitch on my joystick (TM Cougar) when I release the switch after checking any view, my default view becomes Look Backward. The only way I can clear this is to press '2' on the keypad.
Using TM HOTAS Cougar and TM Elite pedals; didn't install TM's driver software. Using Windows 7 RC, Build 7100.
I've tried going back to the default settings files; still have the problem.
Ideas?
EDIT: Its happening with the keypad too now - any view I select changes the default view to Backward after I release the key. The view keys still function correctly but when released I have
the rear-looking deafult view.

Downloaded and installed Vista 32 drivers and it looks like the down input on my hatswitch is dead - looking at this under windows game controllers properties.

when you change settings are you clicking "apply" and then ok? If not this may be your problem.

oboe happened to me as well. all i have is the default settings with the hat.can't set them with the arrow keys.

The problem seemed to resolve itself. I took the joystick apart, examined the hat switch and noted no loose or broken wires. But when I put it back together it all seemed to work again.
Since the problem also occured with the keypad, I don't think it was joystick related. Don't know how it got better, but I'm back in the air.

my guess would be that you had some crud holding the button in. Taking it apart knocked out.

I dunno. Any use of a view key, hat switch or keypad, resulted in the default view looking backward. I could still use the all the view keys, both hat switch and keypads, and they would show the proper view - just when I let go of them my view reverted to looking backward out of the cockpit. If I used the number '2' key on the keypad, that would fix the problem and return my default view to forward. Until I used another view, then it wou;d be screwed up again until I hit '2'.
Seemed like a software glitch to me, but it did go away after I took apart and reassembled my joystick. Anyway glad its fixed!
