Title: You know you're old when...
Post by: texasmom on August 30, 2009, 12:50:49 PM
You can injure yourself taking a nap.  Ouch.  Send aspirin.

How did you manage to do that?

A friend and I were talking about this just the other day - "you know you're getting old when you hurt yourself while sleeping"

hope your feeling better...

Thanks.  :(

I'm sure it will feel better in a few days. At least I got a good nap out of it. :)

What is the world coming to. The last thing on earth we can truly enjoy is a nap. Bad times these days.

having torn both my rotator cuffs one of them twice and one of them three times I sympathize with your pain.........

and yes the third time on the one occurred while sleeping...... I apparently, while having my arm tucked under my head, rolled over on it and stretched the shoulder just a bit too much

having surgery just for taking a nap is a sucky experience :(

I've dislocated both shoulders multiple times over the years doing that...hurts for days...just be sure not to do it again until it heals (if you can help it).

I occasionally wake up with an arm dead. As in, entirely dead. I have to pick it up with my other hand and toss it to where the blood will flow again...can feel it reinflate with blood...god, it's creepy.

I didnt wana think about that. Even worse is when both have no feeling what so ever. And you try and sit up or roll over. Im always afraid Im going to break a bone or cause damage because I cant feel limits or stress.

:lol Back when I was little, we all just innately stopped; didn't say anything. Usually we'd have a little chat with them as they went by.

Got outta bed the other day and heard my back squeek. Not crack, not crunch, the d@*# thing squeeked. For 10mins i sounded like the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. Needless to say the wife got a hoot out of it ( until later when she turned to pick something up and had a pain in her hip )  :D

Remember when you were little and had a nice bowl of Rice Crispies so Snap, Crackle, and Pop could start your morning? If I crouch down and stand back up that's what my knees sound like....
It's kinda embarrassing when I have to crouch at work and then have them lock up and I actually have to pitch forward onto my hands and straight my knees one at a time and then stand up stiff-legged. Wouldn't suck so bad if my back bent properly (5 vertebrae fused from car accident).
