Wow Betty he's growing alot! I bet he does eat you outta house and home, check out the net for dogfood formulas, you might be able to supplement his food and save some money in the long run.
Of course the trade off is more work making the food and storage!
Stuka looks abit leggy to me,ya thats likely to change somewhat as the seem to be all legs and feet as they grow.
I hope your training him every day, even if it's only for 10 minutes, the reenforcement at this age is so important!!! Oh and dont be afraid to rough house him abit, best do it while he's still young and teach him "out" means stop, sit and settle down. That is the hardest thing to teach these dogs, for years they were bred to go and ignore everything else,in fact they ignore the usual signals other dogs give when they submit.
As for eating kids, well after 30 years I've never had a single dog bite a person and these dogs should have no human aggression what so ever.....
Oh ya I figgured out why you called him stuka too.... it's the divebombs he leaves in the yard isnt it??? :rofl :rofl :rofl
:salute

Nah, he's not big enough yet. :O
He has grown since Dayton, do you think he'll fit in the car next year?
-
Stuka! Put that postman back! ;)
-
Beautiful dog you have there Betty.
His nose is really cool looking.
-
Looks a little like Wheezer's dog Petey from The Little Rascals. The spot over the eye... I think Petey had a ring around his eye instead.

heya morfiend...yep he sure is gettin big. hes house broken and does great while we're gone, i dont put him in his kennel any more. we still work with him, im the only one that rough houses with him still, the kids and anyone else friends or family are only allowed to play with him when they have a toy in their hand. when he and i play though he doesn't bite me, he only mouths me but doesn't put pressure in it. if i say OUCH! he totally stops dead in his tracks. ty for all the advice u gave me before, i used it ALOT! hehe
-
I recall the early pics and wow hes gotten rather large . Stuka is looking good and solid though and has a bit of a grin to him also .
Nutte
-
That is a good looking dog.
-
thanks guys! hes a bit spoiled hehe but hes such a handsome puppehhhh dawg!!! :)

Amazes me that people have an aversion to Pit Bulls. Yes they were bread as work dogs.
The owner determines if the dog will be friendly or aggresive. And that means for most breeds.
I've owned a few German Shephards. Also Lab. Both breeds were great dogs for the home.
Pit Bulls are also great for the home as long as a dimwit doesn't own it.
Nice job Betty. Beautiful dog!
-
well said hajo! u can't blame the breed u gotta blame the owner for sure. stuka is a smart lil guy...well not so lil but u know what i mean. i spend time with him everyday working on the things i have taught him. he luvs people in general no matter who it is or how big or small they are. hes great with other animals also.
ty for the compliments....like i said hes a bit spoiled hehe

She didnt want to go there but since you did I must........ the argument that its all in how you train them is always laughable and ridiculous at best.
You cant train instincts out of an animal, you can subdue them sure, but they are still there waiting to come out.
Every time you hear about a pitbull attacking someone and killing them, or in the latest case in the news just yesterday chewing an infants toes off, the owners always say they were such a sweet calm animal. They have it in their DNA to kill.... most are sweet animals, but it just takes a certain trigger to make the sweetest one rip your throat out.

Its interesting how most threads that start out nice and calm like this get turned into an argument, btw I love the name 'Stuka', very clever, and a cute dog too.
-
Great looking pup! Am I correct in assuming that he's mixed?

See Rule #4
-
Betty, your friends would understand the name if you simply have them step in a "stuka landmine".
Just tell them a stuka is a dive bomber so watch out for bombs in the yard. :rofl :rofl :rofl
I'd add Betty, you dont have to quit posting pix of Stuka, those that comment in a negative manner simply dont know what they are talking about!
Any dog regardless of it's breed can and will bite, children should never be left unattended with any dog whether it's a toy poodle or St.Bernard.
