Title: Need help
Post by: LCCajun on September 01, 2009, 04:33:52 PM
I am thinking of coming back. I just don't know if my comp will run AH with the new patches. When I left my comp barely ran AH so I am sure it won't run it now.  Is there any certain specs that my comp will need to run AH. I looked but just haven't found anything.

The download's free, the best way to find out is to try it.

That would work if I never had an account before, but being I use to play it won't work.

The game download is completely free and doesn't require an account. Fly offline just to test your framerates.

Didn't realize offline was the same as online. Thought they didn't change <S> thanks.

Once you update to the most current version of the game, playing offline basically sets up an arena on your computer, so it'll be pretty much the same (you may lose a couple FPS online for obvious reasons).

Cajun, the film viewer runs faster than the game, but try this film (http://dasmuppets.com/public/moot/0d/film44_chog_compactReverse_AndSnapshotSetup_1431.ahf) for some idea of how the box'll run in a medium furball.  There's a fair sized furball with acks and trees and clouds, and the end of the film has just clouds, water, and planes.

The Main page has the basic computer specs.

I thought my 6 year old machine would be junk when I played the first day of the new version but now it is much improved.  :aok

My eight year old computer was able to play Aces High, albeit I had upgraded RAM and had a 128mb video card. However I built a replacement PC so I could see all of the cool new features (water and shadows are amazing)

Hey Cajun I was in the same situation.  My computer barely ran the way it was and then I quit cause it was just too annoying.  I definitely thought I would have to get a new rig with the new version out.  I kept hearing all the horror stories of FPS on good rigs going down.  I thought well I certainly can't play now.  I decided to say what the hell, I'll try it.  Guess what, I'm getting FPS over 30 with detail minimal and I can play the game now.  You have nothing to lose ( Except a months of service right?)
