Title: Frequency of DISCOs Increased Drastically
Post by: swareiam on September 06, 2009, 06:24:37 AM
I have an issue where game play will last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hours before a disco. The number of discos has me concerned. I have had six discos so far and that is just in the MA. All within the first week of play. I have not made any modifications to my system within the past year. Prior to this new version and its several updates and revisions disco's were scattered and very uncommon to occur. I could go for the whole month with just two. Unfortunately, it has only been since this latest version that the problem has been occurring. The frequency at which they happen now has brought me here to both report the issue and seek some answers. Everything else is working quite well and the graphics are beautiful. Thanks for your help...

Get pingplotter and ping the game servers. Your connection may be going bad. The internet might have changed in your area about the same time as the update.

ditto. only seems to be a couple of nights a week. or during day saturdays. pingplotter shows packet losses in 5+ places sometimes. Called ISP, and think I got it worked out. we ll see.

on a side note, I forgot to close pingplotter the other night while I was on AH, hehe talk about crazy lag, I couldnt hit nothin, and I would get hit, 2-3 seconds after enema passed me. Glad I figured out was happening. Net status was C R azy looking  :x

I had 45 discoes last month atleast 20 so far this month. Some times it`ll take an hour, most of the time it`s more like every other sortie.I don`t know what to do,short of taking it to the comp shop to have it looked at.I have no idea what ping plotter is.

download and run to the game servers .. look at one of skuzzy's posts for the exact numbers

will show you what your connection looks like
you can save to a text file and post it in here and skuzzy can tell you if it is your connect or a computer problem.

I've had the same issue here recently. Just a little bit ago I pinged the LW orange server with the -t modifier while I was playing.

There were only 2 spikes in the reply time, would that be enough to cause a disco or could something else be causing the issue?
