Title: ditches
Post by: FL3 on September 06, 2009, 11:58:14 AM
Ok HTC, how about giving us peeps a break, land (alive) anywhere on a airfield and give us a successful landing.

Especially a  badly dmg'd aircraft with a wounded pilot, come on guys be real , I made it back home, with most of my parts  :O

Don't give me a ditched cause I slid off the runway 2 feet.

So how about it ??

Or you could just learn how to land. :lol

there has to be a line drawn someplace, and HTC has picked the runway. People have been trying to get that line moved for years...50 feet off the runway, the field area itself HT has said it isn't going to move. Anything off the runway is a ditch, get use to it.

Certainly the Real world had it, but HTC said once you start giving leeway, people would just keep asking for more, and more and more, soon enough you'd be able to land on an enemy base with cons around.

Only "off the runway 2 feet"?

Strange.  Sometimes close is good enough.

Landed 2 kills on a capped field.  Bellied in and lost the wing.

Maybe you just weren't "close" enough.

Think that's because where a wheel would have been, is on the griddy area off the RW and I think that does rcount as the RW.

What's black and red and black all over?

ANS: TEShaw landing on runway unconscious with blood and oil on the windshield.

I don't claim to be much good at anything in this game; but, sometimes my unconscious brain astounds me.

If you win it's not really a problem :D

Saw an IL2 get taken apart and luckily skid onto a mountaintop next to the base.  Even though the wings and tail section where gone it was still firing as it sat there before the ditch.

If anything the ditch should be scored as a kill for the pilot that shot the plane down.

If he ditches in enemy territory, it does.  ;)

:aok no doubt....as it should.  My example was of a plane in its own territory, and those are the ones I think should be counted as kills as well.

I'm going to commit forum suicide and say that in real life  :uhoh when gun cams caught you sawing the wings off a plane you got a kill even if they skidded to the ground and lived.  I don't think they had the conversation....

Flight debriefer "Were you over their base?"
Pilot "Yes Sir, I believe I was."
FD "Sorry ol chap, we can't count it."
P "Buggers!  At least you could have tea and a biscuit for me you bloody little bast"

Or maybe they did!  :D

Not so long in the distance past ... you could land on an enemy runway and get a successful landing.

Ditch or successful landing?  You make the call.  SAPP members would say yes! :lol

Actually...... 5ft off the runway is still a landing.

Don't give me a ditched cause I slid off the runway 2 feet.

Someone took the term literally.... and put it in a ditch.  :aok

Obviously one of our trainees (which includes all of us)  :D
