:salute All,
The 801 Squadron Fleet Air Arm is forming up. We need recruits and don’t care how skilled you are. What you have to be is a subscribing member to Aces High, like to have fun and be of legal drinking age. We don’t care about anything else.
Jededii is the CO and I‘m the faithful, hard working XO. This is our first shot at starting a squadron but we have served under and learned from the illustrious leaders of The 880 Squadron Fleet Air Arm and VF-17 “The Jolly Rogers”."
801 Squadron Fleet Air Arm is a historically minded squadron based on the real life Royal Navy 801 Squadron that served in multiple theaters of World War II. The Squadron flew mainly Seafires in the later stages of the war so that will be our main ride in the MW and LW arenas. When the Sea Hurricane and the Sea Gladiator are introduced to the Aces high roster we will fly them in the EW. Since the Royal Navy also flew American Naval aircraft the Corsair, Martlet (Wildcat) and Hellcat are also available for us to use (In RN skins of course!)
As a member of 801 Squadron, you are expected to participate in Squadron missions and email discussions of tactics and events. Maintaining the Squadron takes time and we need people who are committed to becoming a productive member of a team. But we also consider this a fun Sqn where we don't take the we gotta win at all costs attitude. Online comradeship with a mutual respect for squad mates and the community at large are the qualities we are seeking. Success will come over time.
We will have a squad night on Sunday at 8:30pm EST starting in the TA and will be participating in the Friday Squad Operations (FSO) at 11pm EST. We will probably get together on Thursday night or early Friday night to familiarize ourselves with our plane assignment for the FSO.
Our recruiting page can be found here:
