The mighty 80th, known for their 38 parts distribution scheme with a side business in black market blenders, was on the tarmac... engines running. Final discussions on how to take off without hitting anything were in full swing. As 38s sat there a large flight of friendlies took off in the other direction. They must have numbered around 40 machines of all makes and models. The sky around us was full of friendly icons and we felt comfortable as our discussion continued. These discussion can be long winded given the importance of not crashing before we even lift off.
It was Lazer who came up with the novel idea of following the concrete trail we were sitting on. He wisely noted that it seemed straight and that there were no obvious obstacles to hinder our rollout. OK... the plan was set. We would roll on my command.
Gentlemen let's BOOM BOOM BOOM ............ ahhhhhhhhhhh
OK who was supposed to be watching for enemy aircraft. Mir said, "hey the sky was full of green".
Seems there was a lone spit came through the sea of green and got 3 of us sitting on the tarmac. I have not laughed so hard in a long time.

Oh Man, I'd have paid to see the looks on your faces - that would have been priceless :D :rofl

Who was it?
-
ahhh no names. Just to say we laughed hard for a bit. The fella was a brave soul to wade through all that green. I don't think any of them even reacted.
What was so funny is the fact that none of us saw him coming becuse we were so into our discussion. :rofl Later lazer said he saw tracers hitting and tried to .ef but got killed too. We were sitting there in a tight group... surprised he didn't get more than three.

Was hilarious.. A mission of a large number of la7's was rolling opposite way as us, maybe 50 ft from the field. We got the brunt of my spitties anger. :D
-
We were on the tarmac with 152s watermelon chatting away and some slob got 7 kills in 1 swoop.
-
Lol sounds like when me and the 82nd were on the runway once, chatting away. All of a sudden, a lone B24 comes in at 8k above us, through all the green and dropped at least 4 fat eggs on our face, killing 4 of us. Hahahah.
-
Well I understand your not putting the name of that masked man out there . He knows what hes done and he must have been in such a shock he could only get three of you guys . But its the moments of this game good or bad or funny that make this game a memorable one .
Nutte :salute

hit a base one time as a mission was upping, got 5 or so with bombs and rockets (pony) got chased down by LAs shortly thereafter lol :x
-
LOL, shuffler you can take the bad and bring the funny out of it. Just one of those things you got to sit back a laugh about. And salute to the brave lone person who dare to dive in a hornets nest a vulch a few guys. You deserved them kills.

It happens to all of us on occasion. Way to keep your humor on! :lol
-
Whole bunch of Flying Mongrels in Jeeps all lined up for a race. Just as daddog is counting down to go one sneaky squadmate comes over in a D3a1 and got about 12 of us with a single bomb. Man you should of heard the vox channel erupt! ROFL
Some of us still have not forgiven him. Grin

I've always dreamed of catching the mighty 80th on the runway, or even on some hilltop somewhere with a generator and a few blenders making Margarita's......... In either case, I am unsure if I'd be able to handle the excitement. Probably wind up auguring.
Gentlemen let's BOOM BOOM BOOM ............ ahhhhhhhhhhh

I always knew the 80th were a bunch of good sports <S>! What is really sad about this situation is you have all those countrymen flying around and not one of them bothered to warn those at the airfield of an incoming bandit. Now that is what I call a mission running with head up buttocks syndrome. I'll bet that lone spitty was shocked as heck that he made it through. lol :rock
All the Best...

Is it strange that I wish I was online for that?
:)

As for not getting any warning... I have no problem with that as we were not watching either. We were all guilty of not keeping the ol' head on a swivel. :aok

Don't worry, it's only as strange as it is for me to be proud that I was on for it. :P

If I saved the film, I'll post screenshots.
I didn't throttle up at all, so I got to watch the Spit dive in and take out everybody. lol
Talk about a great laugh!

I was out getting shot down somewhere but all i heard on squad vox was laughter for about 5 mins.

Back about 6mos or so in FSO, our squad was rearming our A20s when a lone ME262 flew down the runway. Needless to say, most of us were done for the night, and FILTH was the #1 scoring pilot that frame. :D
He posted on the BBS some screen shots. We all laughed along w/Filth knowing that anyone of us would have done the same thing.

Kind like in "long December" event when Von Messa (i think it was him) vultch a bunch of B-26 while they where rearming. he made 2 or three passes and ending up with 19 kills. :lol
